GoldenEar Technology has launched a high-end soundbar which it says can rival the performance of discrete left, centre, right speakers. The SuperCinema 3D Array (or SC3DA) employs 3D optimisation technology which cancels crosstalk when stereophonic speakers are positioned in close proximity to each other. The front L/C/R/ soundstage of the SC3DA is created by four 100mm bass midrange drivers and three proprietary High-Velocity Folded Ribbon tweeters, while an outer pair of 'cancellation' drivers deliver signals out of phase with the main L/R drivers. The result, says the brand, is "exceptional height, width and depth, and virtually no acoustic colouration".

The 9kg enclosure, which measures 124cm x 12cm x 7cm (h/w/d), is made from extruded aluminium with marble-powder-infused baffle end-caps and has a lush piano-black finish.

The SC3DA offers several installation options. It can be wall-mounted using keyhole mounts or threaded brass inserts, or shelf-mounted via adjustable feet, and used as an audio upgrade for a flatpanel TV. Those seeking more than a soundbar solution, can partner it with a pair of the brand's GoldenEar SuperSat 3s and a ForceField subwoofer for an unobtrusive multi-channel home cinema solution. All the speakers are voiced to match.

The SuperCinema 3D array has a retail price of £995 and is distributed by Karma-AV. For more on the Karma-AV portfolio visit our partner page.
