Yamaha launches its new high performance Aventage AV receiver in August. Top of the range is the RX-A3080; it’ll be joined by the RX-A2080 and RX-A1080. The models will retail for £2,200, £1,700 and £1,300 respectively. All offer decoding for Dolby Atmos and DTS: X, and support MusicCast multiroom. They’re also Amazon Alexa control compatible.

The AVRs also boasts Surround AI, which appears to be an auto select for Cinema DSP sound modes based on content. The receivers also have a new style interface.

The RX-A3080 has seven 4K-ready HDMI inputs with three HDMI outs. It’s a nine channel Dolby Atmos design (5.2.4), but surprisingly doesn’t offer 11 channel processing for those that want to add another stereo amp. Still, you do ge XLR inputs.

The seven channel RX-A1080 offers110 watts p/c .The nine channel RX-A2080 and RX-A3080 increase that to 140 watts per channel.
