The project focused on bringing together automation, lighting, audio, networking and security in ways that preserved the property's architecture, uninterrupted lake views and carefully curated interiors. To achieve that vision, the homeowner partnered with Charlotte-based HTS (Home Technology Solutions) and an interior design firm from the earliest stages of the renovation. Built around the Control4 platform from ADI, the completed installation combines Control4 automation, Lux Lighting, Triad audio, Araknis networking and Luma surveillance to deliver intuitive control while allowing the technology itself to fade into the background. "The technology was important, but aesthetics were always the priority," said the homeowner. "We wanted everything to blend naturally into the home rather than stand out. The technology is there when you need it, but it never becomes the focus of the space, and that's exactly what we were trying to achieve." That philosophy shaped the project from the outset. With expansive glazing framing panoramic views across Lake Norman, preserving the visual character of the home became as important as tech performance and convenience. Throughout the installation, HTS worked closely with the homeowner and interior designer on even the smallest placement decisions, confirming the locations of televisions, touchscreens and other visible technology before installation to ensure each complemented the home's architecture and interior finishes. “Technology doesn’t have to dominate a home,” said Mike Fitton, president and CEO of HTS. “When it’s planned properly, it blends naturally into the architecture and interiors, becoming part of the overall design rather than drawing attention to itself. Early in the project, we worked closely with the homeowner and interior designer to ensure every technology decision supported that vision.” Lighting became one of the clearest examples of the project's collaborative approach. Rather than filling walls with banks of conventional switches, Lux Lighting keypads and personalized lighting scenes simplified the user experience while complementing the home’s contemporary interiors. The streamlined controls allowed lighting to become part of the design language while giving the homeowners effortless control of different moods throughout the day. “Clients increasingly recognize how important it is to integrate high-end, streamlined technology into the overall interior design,” said Samantha Holcman, interior designer. “When everything is considered together, you create spaces that are elegant, comfortable and effortless to live in.” The same design philosophy extended throughout the wider installation. Araknis networking equipment was carefully concealed to provide robust whole-home connectivity without disrupting the visual flow of the interiors, while Triad in-ceiling loudspeakers delivered distributed audio throughout the principal living spaces without introducing unnecessary visual clutter. A Samsung Frame TV was selected to blend naturally into the main family room, while Episode soundbars were deployed selectively in secondary spaces where they best supported the overall design intent. Behind the scenes, the Control4 platform unifies lighting, audio, climate control, surveillance, security, gate access and other connected systems through a single intuitive interface. Replacing multiple standalone applications with one integrated platform has simplified everyday living while ensuring the technology remains easy for the entire family to use. "We wanted everything working through one interface," the homeowner explained. "Instead of juggling separate apps for security, audio and everything else, it all works together in one place. It keeps day-to-day living simple while allowing the technology to stay in the background, exactly as we intended." Security was integrated with the same level of consideration. Luma surveillance cameras provide comprehensive coverage around the property while remaining visually unobtrusive, supported by Luma Bridge analytics, Control4 Chime, Qolsys security and integrated access control to provide reassurance without compromising the home's design. For Fitton, projects such as the Lake Norman residence demonstrate how early collaboration with interior designers can produce better outcomes for both homeowners and integrators. “Today, we can meet interior designers’ needs far better than we could in the past,” he said. “Rather than getting in their way, we can highlight the beautiful spaces they’re creating. Technology should reinforce great design, not compete with it.” The completed residence now delivers intuitive whole-home control, integrated entertainment and comprehensive security while maintaining the calm, uncluttered aesthetic envisioned at the beginning of the project. “Projects like this demonstrate what's possible when technology is considered as part of the overall design from the outset,” said Herbert Bansbach, Business Development Manager at ADI. “Through ADI's ecosystem of interoperable brands, integrators can create homes where technology complements the architecture, simplifies everyday living and enhances the homeowner experience.” The Lake Norman project demonstrates how thoughtful collaboration between homeowner, interior designer and technology integrator can transform smart home technology into an integral part of the living environment. More broadly, it shows how automation, lighting, networking and security, when planned from the outset, can enhance everyday life while allowing a home's architecture and interior design to remain the center of attention.</bodyText><pageSummary>Luxury waterfront residence blends technology and interiors</pageSummary><displayDate>2026-10-05T00:00:00</displayDate><tags>Smart home,Control4,Case Study</tags><author>1291</author></Showcase></Company>

Hidden Home Technology transformed the room around it, combining acoustic construction, a larger screen, a richly detailed interior and URC control. Hidden Home Technology has won Silver for Best International Installation at the 2026 URC Unsurpassed Awards for its renovation of a Steinway Lyngdorf cinema in Midford, near Bath. Entered as ‘The Weary Cinema Reborn’, the project demonstrates how much can change when an integrator concentrates on the room around an existing high-quality system. The Bath-based business first visited the property to extend its high-speed network. During that visit, the team was shown a dated cinema in the basement of an outbuilding linked to the main house. The equipment was substantial, but a small screen, limited acoustic treatment and harsh lighting left the space feeling uninviting. It was not a room the family naturally gravitated towards. The client is a television screenwriter, so the brief encompassed professional viewing and BAFTA screenings as well as family entertainment. Over approximately eight weeks, HHT rebuilt the interior while retaining the Steinway Lyngdorf audio system and the client’s furniture. Rebuilding the room around the sound The original screen was constrained by the front loudspeakers. HHT constructed a new timber-framed front wall to accommodate a larger acoustically transparent screen, with the Steinway Lyngdorf speakers repositioned behind it and raised towards the main listening height. The structure also created space for substantial acoustic treatment and bass absorption. Additional framed wall areas provided further treatment depth. This was a construction-led approach: the room’s reflections and bass behaviour were addressed before electronic correction was applied. The modest reduction in internal space bought room for the treatment, screen and speakers to work together. A cinema with a domestic character The interior was designed around the retained seating, rather than treating it as an obstacle. Timorous Beasties moth-motif velvet panels combine decorative impact with absorption, complemented by Camira navy fabric, Farrow & Ball Hague Blue, and wood-slat detailing with copper accents. Buster + Punch brass lighting picks out the textures, while a CNC-cut black Valchromat floor inlay and skirting frame the new wall construction. A herringbone carpet and refreshed rear joinery complete the room. The books, ornaments and familiar furniture give the finished cinema the character of a lived-in space, rather than a demonstration room. Lighting and control for everyday viewing Lighting was part of the redesign, not an afterthought. Collingwood 1901 dim-to-warm fittings, diffused lighting and glare-control details replaced the exposed-lighting feel of the original room. An expanded Rako system provides four programmed scenes: TV, box-set, movie and blackout. URC Total Control brings the sources, projection and lighting into a common interface. The cinema is led by an iPad on a magnetic charging dock, giving the family access to source selection and lighting without a collection of separate controls. A JVC projector serves the larger screen. The installation also extends into the main house. The cinema’s MRX-12 links to an MRX-4 IR controller there, where a TRC-1480 handheld operates the everyday AV system, including a Denon AVR, Sky Stream, Apple TV and television through Bowers & Wilkins 800 Series loudspeakers. HHT calibrated the retained Steinway Lyngdorf system using RoomPerfect and its dedicated microphone. The diagonally opposed subwoofers were tuned, and REW measurements were used to examine the room and check the effect of correction. Acoustic construction and calibration therefore formed complementary parts of the work. The most telling feedback concerns the room as a whole. In his published testimonial, the client, Ashley, described the result: ‘Dan and Jess have transformed our weary cinema room into a thing of beauty!’ He credited the team not only for sound and vision, but also for the decorating, electrics, décor and lighting. HHT reports that the once-underused room is now used daily for work and family viewing. A fourth international URC award The 2026 Silver follows HHT’s international Silver awards in 2021 and 2023 and Gold in 2025. For this project, the distinction is a renovation that brings control, acoustics and interior design together without making wholesale equipment replacement the starting point. An eight-part build-film series documents the transformation, from the original room through construction to the finished cinema. The complete project story and films are available on Hidden Home Technology’s website.</bodyText><pageSummary>Everything had to go - except the Steinway Lyngdorf system</pageSummary><displayDate>2026-09-28T00:00:00</displayDate><tags>home cinema,Case Study</tags><author>1291</author></Showcase></Company>

The sound system charged with delighting fans every leg of the way came from L-Acoustics. The sound system was designed and supplied by Adlib, one of Europe's leading event technology partners. They chose the L-Acoustics K Series, which included the K1 and the K2, known as the "lightweight heavyweight" of the Pro Audio industry. Since 1984, Adlib has supported the live events industry, theatres, education, performance spaces, and venues to entertain audiences all over the world. Over four decades it has established itself as a single-source supplier respected throughout the Pro AV industry, with the in-house expertise to deliver audio, lighting, video and mechanical engineering. James Coghlan, Adlib's Systems Engineer, worked closely with George Ezra's FOH Engineer, Mike Timm, on the system's design from the beginning of the tour until the end. They played a crucial role in ensuring that the system delivered a flawless audio experience for Ezra's fans. “I’ve been a big fan of L-Acoustics since first mixing on ARCS in the late 1990s. Their systems translate what I want my mixes to sound like better than any other system on the market,” saysTimm. <img width="660" height="440" src="/media/15429370/george-ezra-arena-tour_660x440.jpg" alt="George Ezra Arena Tour"/> According to Coghlan, L-Acoustics has always been the go-to touring solution for the artist, and Mike Timm specified L-Acoustics for the current tour because of his previous experiences with their sound systems. The tour primarily played in arena-style venues, which influenced their design choices. Using Soundvision, L-Acoustics 3D modelling software, they positioned the arrays at the beginning of the UK run. They used a combination of K1 and K2 for the main and side arrays, and A and X Series enclosures for front-fill to draw the image of Ezra's vocal down from the main arrays for the first rows closest to the barrier line. The setup included main arrays of 12 K1 over six K2 down, with eight K1-SB flown behind them. For side hangs, 12 K2 were deployed both left and right, along with 12 KS28 positioned on the floor in a broadside configuration. The fill system comprised four centrally placed A10 three ARCS II per side as in-fills, two X15 for out-fill, and four lip-fill X8 evenly spaced across the front of the stage, powered by 46 LA12X amplified controllers. <img width="660" height="440" src="/media/15429371/l-acoustics-array_660x440.jpg" alt="L Acoustics Array"/> Four L-Acoustics P1 processors on the front-end, utilising an AVB based returns system, provide better sound quality and greater flexibility of routing, and the system is easy to set up and proven to be rock solid. Custom cable bridges with a centre hinge were used to allow navigation of the PA cabling around the various lighting and design elements on the stage, and the team collaborated closely with production and designers to ensure the bridges were the perfect fit for each venue. George Ezra's unique sound and style were perfectly complemented by the audio experience, ensuring fans were treated to unforgettable shows and consistent audio, regardless of where they were in the venue. The tour received received rave reviews, with some audience members approaching FOH to say it's the best live show they have ever heard. Mike Timm, the FOH Engineer, stated that he's been a big fan of L-Acoustics since the late 1990s, and Adlib's gear is always well-maintained and up-to-date, contributing to the quality of the final result. <img width="660" height="440" src="/media/15429372/l-acoustic-speakers_660x440.jpg" alt="L Acoustic Speakers"/> Long story short: the sound system used on George Ezra's recent concert tour delivered an exceptional audio experience that left audiences blown away. As part of the Live at The Piece Hall summer series featuring headliners like The Lumineers, Limp Bizkit, UB40 ft. Ali Campbell, The Charlatans, and Johnny Marr, the challenge was clear: to fill the open-air courtyard of this historic venue with outstanding sound quality, all while respecting the surrounding town's tranquillity. The chosen solution? L-Acoustics' K Series. The Piece Hall is Yorkshire's most significant secular building, a Georgian cloth hall constructed in 1779. Its architecture has borne witness to centuries of history, blending commerce and culture seamlessly. Today, it stands as a symbol of the region's rich heritage and continues to inspire awe with its captivating site-specific performances and modern music concerts. The grandeur of The Piece Hall presented unique acoustic challenges. The stage, nestled in the corner of the courtyard, meant that sound needed to be delivered with precision to a packed audience, all while minimising unwanted spill behind the stage. Moreover, the venue is located in a town centre, calling for a noise containment strategy to maintain neighbourly peace. This is where Hull-based L-Acoustics Certified Partner, HPSS Ltd, entered the picture. With a longstanding relationship with The Piece Hall dating back to 2017, HPSS had a track record of delivering top-tier sound experiences. The challenge this year was to design a sound system that met the venue's specific needs while offering uncompromising sound quality. L-Acoustics' K Series was the chosen solution. Why? Because it not only elevates sound quality but also ensures comprehensive coverage of the entire audience area while containing noise spill to the surroundings. Hugh Jones, Managing Director and Sound Engineer at HPSS, notes, "L-Acoustics instils confidence, both for its superior sound quality, and also for its user-friendliness." To achieve this, HPSS Project Manager and Sound Engineer Iain Firth turned to Soundvision, L-Acoustics' 3D audio modelling software. The goal was clear: deliver premium audio quality and maintain neighbourly peace. The configuration involved a left/right array of 12 L-Acoustics K2 speakers per side, complemented by 18 units of KS28 subwoofers to provide an expansive low-frequency experience. Centre-flown L-Acoustics Kara II speakers handled front fills, while additional Kara II units provided out-fill. For the artists on stage, 12 X15 HiQ speakers, along with two KS21 compact subwoofers, served as the monitor system. Side-fill came courtesy of four ARCS speakers on top of two SB28 units per side. Powering this sonic marvel were 19 LA12X and four LA4X amplified controllers. With a tight schedule, including sound checks starting at 4pm and the show kicking off two hours later, having a reliable sound system was paramount. Not only did it need to deliver exceptional sound, but it also needed to instil confidence in visiting sound engineers and comfortably accommodate artists' own engineers. Martin Clarke, Production Manager at The Piece Hall, proudly reflects on the summer gigs: "The feedback from engineers, artists, audiences, and our neighbours has been excellent. This is testament to an excellent product and first-class design." The partnership between The Piece Hall and HPSS continues to flourish, creating sound experiences that leave a lasting impression.</bodyText><pageSummary>How they turned historic Piece Hall into a world class concert venue</pageSummary><displayDate>2023-10-07T00:00:00</displayDate><tags>Events,Pro AV,Live Music</tags><author>1291</author></Showcase><Showcase id="64235" parentID="61267" level="3" creatorID="3" sortOrder="2" createDate="2024-11-08T08:51:03" updateDate="2024-11-08T08:56:03" nodeName="O2 Academy Brixton upgrades sound system" urlName="o2-academy-brixton-upgrades-sound-system" path="-1,7983,61267,64235" isDoc="" nodeType="1229" creatorName="Steve May" writerName="Steve May" writerID="3" template="1225" nodeTypeAlias="Showcase"><Image id="64236" parentID="64235" level="4" creatorID="3" sortOrder="0" createDate="2024-11-08T08:54:17" updateDate="2024-11-08T08:55:28" nodeName="Brixton 1" urlName="brixton-1" path="-1,7983,61267,64235,64236" isDoc="" nodeType="1045" creatorName="Steve May" writerName="Steve May" writerID="3" template="0" nodeTypeAlias="Image"><image>/media/16688396/la_o2_academy_brixton-01-academy-music-group.jpg</image></Image><Image id="64237" parentID="64235" level="4" creatorID="3" sortOrder="1" createDate="2024-11-08T08:54:36" updateDate="2024-11-08T08:56:45" nodeName="Brixton 2" urlName="brixton-2" path="-1,7983,61267,64235,64237" isDoc="" nodeType="1045" creatorName="Steve May" writerName="Steve May" writerID="3" template="0" nodeTypeAlias="Image"><image>/media/16688398/la_o2_academy_brixton-02-academy-music-group.jpg</image></Image><Image id="64238" parentID="64235" level="4" creatorID="3" sortOrder="2" createDate="2024-11-08T08:54:51" updateDate="2024-11-08T08:56:54" nodeName="Brixton 3" urlName="brixton-3" path="-1,7983,61267,64235,64238" isDoc="" nodeType="1045" creatorName="Steve May" writerName="Steve May" writerID="3" template="0" nodeTypeAlias="Image"><image>/media/16688399/la_o2_academy_brixton-04-academy-music-group.jpg</image></Image><Image id="64239" parentID="64235" level="4" creatorID="3" sortOrder="3" createDate="2024-11-08T08:55:05" updateDate="2024-11-08T08:55:35" nodeName="Brixton 4" urlName="brixton-4" path="-1,7983,61267,64235,64239" isDoc="" nodeType="1045" creatorName="Steve May" writerName="Steve May" writerID="3" template="0" nodeTypeAlias="Image"><image>/media/16688397/la_o2_academy_brixton-05-academy-music-group.jpg</image></Image><umbracoNaviHide>0</umbracoNaviHide><showInTopMenu>0</showInTopMenu><showInBottomMenu>0</showInBottomMenu><pageImage>/media/16688395/la_o2_academy_brixton-01-academy-music-group.jpg</pageImage><bodyText>Iconic London music venue, the O2 Academy Brixton, has upgraded its audio system, installing a permanent L-Acoustics K Series professional sound system. The Grade II listed building features a unique 140-foot domed ceiling, Art Deco interior, posed specific challenges when it came to installation. After extensive consultations with touring sound engineers and meticulous room modelling, Academy Music Group partnered with Adlib to install a sophisticated L-Acoustics K1 concert sound system. This innovative design not only ensures world-class audio for O2 Academy Brixton’s diverse schedule, but radically streamlines tour setups. "L-Acoustics was the ideal choice for its rider-friendly reputation, superior sound quality, and reliability," says Rob Crossland, Installation Project Manager at Adlib. "L-Acoustics Soundvision modelling software was instrumental, allowing us to create an optimal design that overcomes the room's unique challenges." “The major question in the system design was to keep acoustic energy off the deep, flat front of the raked balcony. We overcame this by creating an array with L-Acoustics K1-SB halfway down, allowing us to maintain pattern control of the LF while avoiding mid/high frequency reflections on stage, resulting in a very clean sound,” adds Crossland. The L-Acoustics setup includes dual hangs of four K1-SB, eight K1 and three K2 per side. 16 KS28 subwoofers are ground-stacked on the stage eight per side in four stacks of four. Four A10 Focus are placed across the stage lip to provide front-fill. An additional two A15 Focus per side increase imaging for those stood towards the front. Under balcony fill is catered to by two X8 coaxial loudspeakers and ten A10i Wide. LA12X and LA4X amplified controllers, driven by P1 processors, provide ample power and seamless system management. "O2 Academy Brixton is one of the world’s most prestigious venues and the new L-Acoustics system elevates our audio capabilities to meet the highest standards expected in touring” says Steve Hoyland, Chief Operating Officer at Academy User Group. “Our objective was to have a system that is respected amongst industry professionals to deliver the best-in-class audio, and the K1 does exactly that.”</bodyText><pageSummary>L-Acoustics instals K1 Concert Sound at iconic music venue</pageSummary><displayDate>2024-11-08T00:00:00</displayDate><tags>Pro AV,Live Music</tags><author>1291</author></Showcase><Showcase id="67629" parentID="61267" level="3" creatorID="3" sortOrder="3" createDate="2026-09-01T16:20:07" updateDate="2026-09-01T16:23:40" nodeName="Bringing concert-grade sound to North London home" urlName="bringing-concert-grade-sound-to-north-london-home" path="-1,7983,61267,67629" isDoc="" nodeType="1229" creatorName="Steve May" writerName="Steve May" writerID="3" template="1225" nodeTypeAlias="Showcase"><umbracoNaviHide>0</umbracoNaviHide><showInTopMenu>0</showInTopMenu><showInBottomMenu>0</showInBottomMenu><pageImage>/media/18740550/la_hill_house_02.jpg</pageImage><bodyText>For a North London homeowner, it started with a Burna Boy concert. Struck by the sound, he looked into the system behind it, found L-Acoustics, and arrived at a question he couldn't let go. Could that same experience exist in a private home? The answer, he decided, would require two very different rooms, and two completely opposite approaches to the same goal. “By the time he arrived at the L-Acoustics showroom in Highgate, the client had a clear sense of what he wanted,” says Nick Fichte, Global Business Development Lead, Hospitality, Home & Yacht at L-Acoustics. “He was interested in recreating the physical and emotional impact of live sound, rather than simply replicating it.” The client came with specific tracks he wanted to hear, ideas about speaker placement, and a vision for how he wanted each space to feel. He also returned to Highgate a second time to refine his choices as the project moved closer to completion. The two spaces required distinct design approaches. Working with the wider project team, Hill House Interiors helped shape how the audio systems were integrated into each room. In the cinema room, the client didn’t want the speakers to be visible at all. Hill House Interiors developed the design approach that allowed the speakers to be concealed entirely behind fabric walls, with acoustic treatment and build work handled by specialist contractor Desmond & Sons, leaving no visible trace of the technology behind the experience. The result is a seamlessly integrated, immersive listening environment where the full power of the system is experienced rather than seen. “Bringing the design and audio teams together early allowed the acoustic brief to inform the room from the outset, from wall build-ups and material choices through to the ceiling design,” explain Helen Bygraves and Jenny Weiss, Co-Founders and Directors of Hill House Interiors. “Working with L‑Acoustics meant we could achieve a high level of performance while keeping the technology discreet, so the cinema still reads as an intimate, resolved interior rather than a purely technical space.” The games room was the opposite brief entirely. Here, the client wanted the speakers visible, a deliberate design statement rather than a hidden system. The acoustic challenge was considerable: floor-to-ceiling glass, hard floors, a bar surface running the length of the room, and glazed doors opening onto a swimming pool left almost nothing to absorb reflections. “To flawlessly match the Syva speakers, we RAL colour-matched them to the joinery, and designed them to read as a deliberate design statement within the room,” says Fichte. “Given the complexity of the acoustic environment, we also brought in one of our L-Acoustics application engineers to calibrate the system. Their expertise was essential to achieving the performance the space required.” The cinema room is built around three X8i handling left, centre and right channels, supported by 10 X4i covering surround and height channels, and two Syva sub for low frequency extension. System drive is handled by an LA7.16i amplified controller. In the games room, a pair of Syva with Syva Sub forms the main system, complemented by four X4r installed in the ceiling, powered by an LA4X amplified controller. The project’s ultimate aim, to bring the quality of live sound into a private home, was realised in the finished installation. With the system calibrated and the client fully acquainted with its capabilities, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. “What made this project special was the journey the client had already been on before he walked through our door,” Fichte adds. “He knew what he wanted because he’d heard it in a live context and refused to accept that the same emotional experience wasn’t possible at home. He was the sort of client who pushes you to deliver something truly exceptional, and these two rooms do exactly that.”</bodyText><pageSummary>Musical Images and Hill House Interiors deploy Syva and X Series</pageSummary><displayDate>2026-09-01T00:00:00</displayDate><tags>home cinema,Hi-fi</tags><author>1291</author><Image id="67630" parentID="67629" level="4" creatorID="3" sortOrder="0" createDate="2026-09-01T16:22:38" updateDate="2026-09-01T16:23:45" nodeName="Hill House 1" urlName="hill-house-1" path="-1,7983,61267,67629,67630" isDoc="" nodeType="1045" creatorName="Steve May" writerName="Steve May" writerID="3" template="0" nodeTypeAlias="Image"><image>/media/18740551/la_hill_house_02.jpg</image></Image><Image id="67631" parentID="67629" level="4" creatorID="3" sortOrder="1" createDate="2026-09-01T16:22:57" updateDate="2026-09-01T16:23:47" nodeName="Hill House 2" urlName="hill-house-2" path="-1,7983,61267,67629,67631" isDoc="" nodeType="1045" creatorName="Steve May" writerName="Steve May" writerID="3" template="0" nodeTypeAlias="Image"><image>/media/18740552/la_hill_house_03.jpg</image></Image><Image id="67632" parentID="67629" level="4" creatorID="3" sortOrder="2" createDate="2026-09-01T16:23:16" updateDate="2026-09-01T16:23:50" nodeName="Hill House 3" urlName="hill-house-3" path="-1,7983,61267,67629,67632" isDoc="" nodeType="1045" creatorName="Steve May" writerName="Steve May" writerID="3" template="0" nodeTypeAlias="Image"><image>/media/18740553/la_hill_house_05.jpg</image></Image></Showcase><Showcase id="67671" parentID="61267" level="3" creatorID="3" sortOrder="4" createDate="2026-09-22T12:50:32" updateDate="2026-09-22T18:23:59" nodeName="Architectural elegance meets L-Acoustic excellence" urlName="architectural-elegance-meets-l-acoustic-excellence" path="-1,7983,61267,67671" isDoc="" nodeType="1229" creatorName="Steve May" writerName="Steve May" writerID="3" template="1225" nodeTypeAlias="Showcase"><Image id="67672" parentID="67671" level="4" creatorID="3" sortOrder="0" createDate="2026-09-22T12:56:10" updateDate="2026-09-22T13:04:35" nodeName="L-Acoustics London audio upgrade 1" urlName="l-acoustics-london-audio-upgrade-1" path="-1,7983,61267,67671,67672" isDoc="" nodeType="1045" creatorName="Steve May" writerName="Steve May" writerID="3" template="0" nodeTypeAlias="Image"><image>/media/18764089/la_southeast_london_home_03.jpg</image></Image><Image id="67673" parentID="67671" level="4" creatorID="3" sortOrder="1" createDate="2026-09-22T12:56:38" updateDate="2026-09-22T13:05:18" nodeName="L-Acoustics London audio upgrade 2" urlName="l-acoustics-london-audio-upgrade-2" path="-1,7983,61267,67671,67673" isDoc="" nodeType="1045" creatorName="Steve May" writerName="Steve May" writerID="3" template="0" nodeTypeAlias="Image"><image>/media/18764090/la_southeast_london_home_05.jpg</image></Image><Image id="67674" parentID="67671" level="4" creatorID="3" sortOrder="2" createDate="2026-09-22T12:58:27" updateDate="2026-09-22T13:05:40" nodeName="L-Acoustics London audio upgrade 3" urlName="l-acoustics-london-audio-upgrade-3" path="-1,7983,61267,67671,67674" isDoc="" nodeType="1045" creatorName="Steve May" writerName="Steve May" writerID="3" template="0" nodeTypeAlias="Image"><image>/media/18764091/la_southeast_london_home_07.jpg</image></Image><Image id="67675" parentID="67671" level="4" creatorID="3" sortOrder="3" createDate="2026-09-22T13:00:06" updateDate="2026-09-22T13:05:47" nodeName="L-Acoustics London audio upgrade 4" urlName="l-acoustics-london-audio-upgrade-4" path="-1,7983,61267,67671,67675" isDoc="" nodeType="1045" creatorName="Steve May" writerName="Steve May" writerID="3" template="0" nodeTypeAlias="Image"><image>/media/18764092/la_southeast_london_home_10.jpg</image></Image><umbracoNaviHide>0</umbracoNaviHide><showInTopMenu>0</showInTopMenu><showInBottomMenu>0</showInBottomMenu><pageImage>/media/18764088/la_southeast_london_home_03.jpg</pageImage><bodyText>In the heart of Putney in South-West London, a masterful fusion of architectural elegance and acoustic excellence has transformed a distinguished 7,000 square-metre residence. What began as a vision for a single 5.1 media room, evolved into an ambitious whole-home audio solution, expertly crafted by premier home integration specialist Cinergy, and built exclusively on professional sound systems from L-Acoustics. The journey began when Cinergy introduced their audiophile client to the world of L-Acoustics at the brand's prestigious Highgate showroom. The demonstration proved transformative – what started as a focused brief expanded into an inspiring vision to create an unparalleled sonic environment throughout the property. The result is a harmonious blend of technology and luxury that spans 80% of the residence. From a sophisticated media room with an integrated recording studio on the top floor to the reimagined living spaces below, each area has been thoughtfully designed to deliver an exceptional audio experience. This comprehensive solution gives the family the flexibility to pursue individual musical interests, gather for shared listening experiences, or host elegant soirées. “From day one, it was very apparent that the owner had a huge appreciation for music,” says Tom Jarvis, founder of Cinergy. “His main media room is an audio only space, without even a TV. What also became clear to us was that he cared about creating a consistent sound, so having one brand throughout the home really appealed – across private living spaces, areas for parties and socialising and through into the garden. He was inspired by the authentic richness and detail of the L-Acoustics sound and wanted that everywhere.” To ensure flawless execution, Cinergy employed L-Acoustics Soundvision 3D sound design and mapping tools to optimise speaker selection, placement and performance. “Designing the right system can be carried out by L-Acoustics with the Soundvision software. It’s able to tell you precisely what you need, eliminating all the guesswork from our job,” Jarvis explains. “It gives me a predictable system that delivers the exact same sound performance that the client experienced in the showroom.” The installation showcases the finest in L-Acoustics technology. In the main living room, 1.5m tall Syva colinear loudspeakers with Syva subwoofers create a striking visual and acoustic centrepiece. These medium throw colinear source systems, which are capable of delivering levels up to 137dB, are complemented by an artfully integrated network of five X4i in-ceiling speakers, two surface mount X4r speakers and two SB10r subwoofers, one in the ceiling and one in the wall. “It's set up as a two-channel zone with the main Syva speakers and then all of the others can be paired in or out to fill the rest of the space with music, according to taste and the function of the room” adds Jarvis. The sophisticated audio experience on the ground floor continues in the library with a refined 2.1 set up using Syva and including an ultra-compact SB10i discretely housed within the joinery. Adjacent spaces include a 5.1 system in the TV room with X4i in-ceiling rear surrounds as well as an SB10 also installed in the joinery while the kitchen diner benefits from four X4r in-ceiling speakers along with one SB10i subwoofer. The crown jewel of the installation is found on the top floor where a professional-grade media room and studio space are configured in a 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos set up, featuring seven X4 speakers which serve as the LCR channels behind a fabric wall, while four X4r speakers provide the surround and height channels, supported by one SB10r subwoofer. Two LA2Xi amplified controllers power this sophisticated configuration. The integration of the recording studio required particular ingenuity. "The rear rights needed to be moved as they were in the space where the client wanted the desk for the recording studio," Jarvis recalls. "We made the desk leg 150mm thick so that we could fit the speaker into the edge of the desk while keeping it in the right location. The recording studio has also got a 2.1 L-Acoustics set up, with its amplifier also mounted in the same leg." This creative solution exemplifies the attention to detail required when integrating professional-grade audio into multi-functional spaces. Seamless control was paramount, achieved through integration with the Control4 platform, allowing intuitive management of this comprehensive audio ecosystem. “He's loving it as are all the family who spend so much of their time now playing and listening to music,” concludes Jarvis. “The L-Acoustics sound quality is off the charts, and consistent everywhere you go in the property. We’re now taking the project one step further, bringing L-Acoustics outside as the key component in a spectacular garden entertainment system.”</bodyText><pageSummary>High-end brand brings whole home audio to luxury London home</pageSummary><displayDate>2026-09-22T00:00:00</displayDate><tags>home cinema,Hi-fi,Case Study</tags><author>1291</author></Showcase></Company>
