Ruark Audio, purveyor of high design music systems, has launched the R810, a statement all-in-one that seeks to redefine the concept of a home entertainment centerpiece. A stablemate to the recently released R410 music system, it shares many of that model’ signature design motifs, including crafted veneered cabinet and handcrafted grille. Parked on a polished chrome stand, it’s available in either soft grey or walnut finishes.
Fronting the R810 is a 4-inch full colour display, which provides setting and source information as well as album artwork. The system ships with the brand’s distinctive RotoDial Bluetooth remote control.
The R810 is optimised for music streaming enthusiasts. There’s support for platforms like Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Apple AirPlay, and Chromecast built-in. The system is high resolution capable up to 32-bit/384kHz, and offers Bluetooth aptX HD connectivity. An Ethernet port is provided for those who would rather not rely on Wi-Fi.
There’s also a digital optical audio input (24-bit 192kHz), a vinyl turntable phono input, and DAB/DAB+, FM, and Internet radio onboard. The R810 doesn't limit itself to music; it can also integrate with TV via HDMI ARC/eARC connectivity.
The R810 is not short on muscle. It boasts a 4.1 channel Class A-B amplifier, with a power output rated at 180W. Behind the grille are two 30mm Ruark silk dome tweeters and a pair of 100mm paper cone woofers. Rounding out the lower registers is a 200mm Ruark long throw paper cone subwoofer.
“The inspiration for our original R7 and now R810 came from the beautiful Radiogram that my grandmother had in her home,” says Alan O’Rourke, Ruark Managing Director. “As a kid when we visited, I would spend hours listening to radio stations, playing records and dancing. R810 is our most technically advanced product to date, but a loving homage to those radiograms of yesteryear.”
Available now, the Ruark Audio R810 retails for £3,000.
