Introducing the UHD35STx, a new short throw 4k projector from Optoma.

Much like its UHD35 stablemate, the low latency model is being pitched as a gaming projector, but is also well equipped for movies and TV viewing. The model is HDR enabled, recognising both HDR10 and HLG sources. There’s a native 24fps mode for movie playback, with ISF Day and Night mode for callibrators.

Input lag is said to be 4ms (1080/240) and 16ms (2160/ 60) in Game mode.

The short throw DLP model need only be set up a metre from a wall or screen, to cast a 100-inch image, making it an ideal choice for smaller media rooms or apartments. Connectivity includes two HDMI inputs and a USB port for power, so a media streaming stick can be connected directly.

The UHD35STx boasts a brightness of 3,600 lumens and has a rated dynamic contrast of 1,000,000:1.

Lamp life is rated at 4,000 hours ( in Bright mode), 15,000 hours (Dynamic), and 10,000 hours (Eco). Operating noise varies from 24dB to 28dB depending on the picture mode chosen.

To aid installation there’s both vertical and horizontal keystone correction. Wall colour adjustment options include light yellow, light green, light blue, pink and grey. Control options comprise RS232, and a 12V trigger.
