Habitech adds DrayTek network switches to ProNet

Habitech has expanded its ProNet portfolio of networking products with five new DrayTek Ethernet switches and a plug 'n' play Vigor 120 ADSL Ethernet modem. The additions join the ProNet Ruckus Smart WLAN and DrayTek router line-up. The distributor says this enhanced DrayTek line-up "will strengthen its ability to provide the UK CI industry with the means to design and supply powerful, reliable and secure networks."

Incoming DrayTek VigorSwitch 1U Ethernet switches include two 8-port PoE devices, the P-1080 and P-1090 with extended power PoE+ on four ports, and three 24-port Gigabit switches, in the shape of the G-1260, G-2260 (pictured above) and PoE capable P-2261.

"The potential for new business in the home networking market is huge but when you're dealing with Gigabit file transfers the dangers of under-specifying are very real," says Habitech MD Jonathan Pengilly. "Get the infrastructure right and you'll open the door to higher-margin sales and have a customer for life."

Pengilly reveals that Habitech's ProNet division has grown rapidly since its launch 18 months ago. End users will spend significant amounts of money on network products that work, he told Inside CI. "We're boosting our DrayTek line and our ProNet support initiative to help our integrators avoid the pitfalls and add genuine, enduring value to their business."
