European distributors for URC whole-house automation, AWE and BMB, have stepped up their commitment to advanced technical training and aftersales support. URC's Benelux distributor BMB (pictured above) now offers monthly training sessions for CI dealers across Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, with commercial and technical training events at its facility in Veen. Comprehensive coverage includes how to specify and program URC systems large and small, from URC control of AV sources in a single room, to whole house control experiences.

"The free training we offer to integrators presents URC to them in a very simple and easy to understand way," explains BMB boss Willem Bok. "By completing the training, it allows attending companies to open up valuable new revenue opportunities."

UK distributor for URC, AWE, recently upgraded its headquarters to incorporate a show apartment which displays its products and services in an impressive lifestyle setting, in addition to full building control. Designed to show the system at home in both a commercial and residential setting, Total Control spans the entirety of the AWE headquarters and provides advanced multi-room audio across 24 zones, automated blind control, lighting and AV equipment. The building functions can be manually driven but are also triggered automatically based upon time of day and building occupancy.

Stuart Tickle, managing director of AWE, says the facility "provides a perfect location for our URC dealers to take their customers, to show them the possibilities achievable with URC home automation products." On display are various URC products, from the TKP-7000 touchscreen to the DMS-1200 multi-zone network amplifier.
