URC has begun shipping its latest touchscreen. The TKP-5500 is a compact in-wall interface that works over POE. Essentially it’s a smaller, more compact version of the brand’s TKP-7000, and features a five-inch LCD touchscreen, for control of entertainment, lighting, heating and security systems. Distribution is via AWE.

The TKP-5500 features familiar swipe navigation and an interface that replicates the iOS and android UX which is now free of charge on all Total Control systems. There’s full graphic feedback from both URC and compatible third-party devices, including HEOS, KNX, NEST, Coolmaster and Philips Hue. When combined with URC Total Control compatible IP cameras, the TKP-5500 can display live video from up to four cameras on one interface for security monitoring.

Available with a black bezel, the TKP-5500  fits in a single-gang wall box and can be mounted either portrait or landscape. It retails for £529.
