Higher quality music streaming service Tidal continues to sign advantageous new hardware partnerships. Its latest round of deals has seen it integrate with UK multiroom brand Lode Audio, and Meridian Sooloos. The Meridian connection is intriguing as it hints that Tidal may at some point adopt Meridian’s MQA lossless codec. A software update will enable users of both systems to seamlessly stream Tidal’s 1411 kbps 16-bit FLAC/ALAC library around their homes.
“Having spent so much time developing the LodeNet platform, which is designed to deliver music at its highest quality, we are delighted that a streaming service the quality of TIDAL is now available and integrated into our system,” declares Lode Audio CEO Ed Stark. “The performance is truly excellent and we know our customers, all of which are music lovers, are going to love it”.
Lode Audio’s LA4 multiroom audio system, built on the patented LodeNet, is controllable from smartphones and tablets as well as leading control systems including AMX and Crestron.
Pål Bråtelund, Tidal’s strategic partnership manager, says: “It is extremely important that we work with like-minded companies and this highlights the importance of high quality music streaming to the custom installation market”. Tidal is also available on Sonos, Linn and Autonomic platforms.
