Looking to install a kick-ass home cinema system? After its showing at Sound & Vision The Bristol Show 2013, US outfit SVS should be high on your shortlist. The company, along with electronics supplier Primare, was awarded Best Home Cinema Room by industry group The Clarity Alliance. Winning the day for SVS was its new Ultra 5.1 Series loudspeakers (pictured above).

"As a first time exhibitor, we're honoured to receive such an amazing award," enthused SVS president Gary Yacoubian. "We demonstrated the versatility of the Ultra Series by alternating multichannel music; two-channel music and more conventional home theater demos and I think it paid off." The debut of SVS at the show followed a similarly lauded appearance at the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest. The Clarity Alliance is a mélange of retailers, manufacturers, distributors and media. Simon Bowles, outgoing vice-chairman of the Alliance, says, "It's important that the hard work and effort put in by the many companies which exhibit at the show is recognized and rewarded."

SVS Ultra speakers embrace sound-enhancing non-parallel cabinet design, and UltraSonic drivers across the front soundstage. Providing LFE was an SB13-Ultra subwoofer. The SVS enclosures were driven by Primare high-end electronics.

For the record, the winning Best Home Cinema Room 2013 system comprised: SVS Ultra series speakers (two Ultra Towers, one Ultra Center, two Ultra Surrounds), an SVS SB13-Ultra subwoofer, Primare SP 32 AV processor, Primare A30.7 7 x 150w power amp and Primare BD32 Blu-ray multi format player.

Distribution for SVS and Primare is handled by Karma-av. For more on Karma-av's portfolio, jump over to our partner page.
