Savant has launched an extensive new range of control options under the Smart Series banner, allowing integrators to pitch the Apple-based control solution at the CI middle-market for the first time. At a London launch event, Savant also debuted audio and video switches and its first Universal remote control.
The incoming Smart Series Host, remote and Controller trade package is priced at just £1199 (plus VAT), and offers complete AV, music, security, heating and lighting control from a single iOS app or remote. The system is positioned under the brand's Pro series and interfaces with the Savant True Control 2 app. Control devices include the SSC 008 which features two RS232 ports, six IR ports, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and PoE, and the more expansive SSC 0025, with eight RS232 ports, six IR ports, three Relay ports, seven GPIO ports and Ethernet. They are priced at £400 and £1,200 (plus VAT) respectively.
Also new to the UK is the Savant SUR 500 universal remote. Designed for single zone control, the Wi-Fi zapper offers two-way communication and metadata support.

Attracting considerable attention at the London launch were two new audio and video matrices. The SSA-3220/D audio matrix (pictured above) sports 20 zone outputs and 32 inputs evenly split between analogue and digital sources, making it a powerful multi-room solution. Features include a seven band equaliser with optional delay processing, control LAN and RS232. It's joined by an HDMI video matrix available in 8x4 (SLN84BT), 8x6 (SLN86BT) and 8x8 (SLN88BT) configurations, each with SmartLink HDBaseT, coaxial digital audio, RS232, IR and LAN connectivity. Rounding out the new range editions is the HRX-SL501 HDBaseT receiver.
