The new model builds on the original, adding refinements to several of the system’s core sound-shaping technologies, offering music lovers greater control over tonal balance and spatial presentation.

The WANDLA GoldenSound Edition Gen 2 combines DAC functionality with preamplifier, in a single component. Like the original, it has balanced analogue architecture, a proprietary amplification stage and SERCE DSP processing module that handles digital signal manipulation. System builders can pair the unit with the Ferrum HYPSOS power supply, for additional performance optimisation.

With the Gen 2, Ferrum has focused on refining three distinctive sound-processing features.

Impact+ is Ferrum’s system for shaping low-frequency performance. This iteration introduces seven selectable profiles: Reference, Ref+, Smooth, Kick+, DD-Comp, DD-Comp+ and Sub-Bass, each with a different bass balance.

An updated Tube Mode now models the sonic signatures of several well-known valve types, including EL34, KT88, 300B, 2A3 and 7062 designs. The idea is to replicate the characteristics of valve-based equipment. The effect can be applied at variable intensity, from 10- to 200 per cent, enabling anything from subtle harmonic warmth to a more pronounced valve-inspired presentation.

The third update comes in the form of enhancements to Spatial Enhancement, Previously offering separate modes for headphone and loudspeaker listening, the system now incorporates a new processing element known as Transient Compensation, or T-Comp. This feature refines the algorithm’s treatment of high-frequency transients, helping to maintain clarity and positional accuracy while expanding the perceived soundstage. Users can toggle spatial processing independently, choose headphone or loudspeaker output modes and engage the additional transient optimisation when required.

The Ferrum WANDLA GoldenSound Edition Gen 2 retails for £3,295 ($3,295 / €3,295).

Premium shift reshapes global audio market

<p><span><span>Buyers want high-quality Hi-Fi and seamless convenience</span></span></p>

<img src="http://www.insideci.co.uk/imagegen.ashx?width=300&image=/media/18378989/dcs-sound-system.jpg" />
Audio may be ubiquitous, but the way consumers enjoy it is evolving. The sector, which continues to generate more than $120 billion in annual revenue, is increasingly concentrated in higher-value segments rather than mass-market hardware, according to new market research from Futuresource Consulting.

Demand for everyday products, such as Bluetooth speakers and entry-level headphones, is slowing down, while premium home audio and higher-performance Head-Fi is gaining traction. This is good news for custom installers.

Futuresource’s latest global audio report estimates that the overall consumer audio market grew by around 7 per cent last year, maintaining a value comfortably above $120 billion. But that’s not the whole story.

Mainstream categories have cooled following the surge seen during the pandemic years, suggests Futuresource. Demand for everyday wireless speakers and mass-market headphones is softening as replacement cycles lengthen and product innovation becomes more incremental.

But within the broader market, several segments are performing more strongly than others. Hearing health devices - including advanced hearing aids and related technologies - posted the strongest growth, rising 10 per cent year-on-year to reach $41 billion. Much of that expansion is being driven by premiumisation, alongside the integration of AI-driven sound processing and increasingly sophisticated noise filtration technologies.

Gaming audio also continues to expand, growing by 8 per cent, although it remains comparatively small at around $3 billion globally.

More traditional consumer categories are moving at a steadier pace. Headphones remain the largest segment at $55 billion, though growth was limited to 4 per cent, while home audio slipped slightly, declining 1 per cent to $23 billion.

The bottom line? Widely used product categories are no longer generating the same upgrade momentum that once sustained volume growth.

A clearer picture emerges when the market is examined through the lens of price bands. Devices priced above $200 represent a significantly different mix of products and purchasing behaviour.

Within this bracket, the combined home audio and headphone market stands at roughly $40 billion. Home audio’s share increases markedly, approaching 40 per cent of total value, while product demand shifts toward soundbars, Wi-Fi speakers and traditional loudspeakers.

Headphones still represent the largest share when it comes to demand, but the balance within that category also evolves. Over-ear models with advanced active noise cancellation and enhanced comfort become more prominent as consumers look for longer-term listening solutions.

At the more premium end, and we’re talking about devices priced above $500 here, the landscape shifts again. The market contracts to around $8 billion in value, yet home audio accounts for the lion’s share of spending, almost 90 per cent.

Premium soundbars and loudspeakers dominate, with a growing number of models occupying the $500 to $1,000 range and beyond.

For loudspeakers in particular, the bulk of the market already sits above the $500 threshold, suggesting that buyers with a strong interest in home listening remain willing to invest heavily in performance.

By comparison, headphones above $500 largely consist of specialist over-ear designs and a small niche of professional or enthusiast in-ear monitors.

Taken together, the data highlights a clear pattern: while headphones dominate entry-level and mid-market categories, home audio leads the way as spending moves into premium territory.

One of the more notable shifts identified by Futuresource is the changing profile of the premium audio buyer.

Historically, higher-end audio has been primarily the domain of enthusiasts focused on separate components, wired systems and specialist retail channels. Today, the market is increasingly shaped by digitally native consumers who expect both performance and convenience.

Futuresource’s Audio Tech Lifestyles research shows that sound quality remains the leading purchase driver. However, ease of use and seamless connectivity are becoming almost as important.

In practical terms, this means that premium products that combine high-fidelity performance with wireless flexibility, intuitive controls and design-led aesthetics, are in demand. Soundbars, Wi-Fi speakers and premium headphones are expected to integrate easily into modern living spaces while delivering the performance associated with traditional Hi-Fi.

Technology also plays a growing role, particularly where it improves usability. Features such as adaptive equalisation, automatic room calibration and AI-driven noise optimisation are becoming more common, provided they operate largely behind the scenes and simplify the listening experience.

Many of the expectations shaping consumer audio products (design integration, ease of operation and discreet technology) mirror the priorities already present in residential AV design.

The broader message from Futuresource is that the consumer audio industry is entering a period where value creation is likely to matter more than raw volume growth.

With the mass market stabilising, brands are focusing on higher-margin segments that combine strong audio performance with lifestyle-friendly design and functionality. Premium soundbars, networked speakers and high-quality headphones are emerging as key battlegrounds.

For those working in the custom installation sector, this shift reinforces the ongoing relevance of home audio within integrated systems. As consumers show greater willingness to invest in high-quality sound at home, opportunities persist for professionally designed and installed solutions that extend well beyond the capabilities of standalone consumer products.

Long story short: The home audio market is aligning more closely with the strengths of the CI channel, and systems that deliver superior performance, while remaining easy to use and visually sympathetic to contemporary interiors, are hitting the right note.

That’s going to be music to the ears of many.

CEDIA highlights technical training and trends at ISE 2026

<p>Education, networking, and industry-leading guidance point to a smarter future </p>

<img src="http://www.insideci.co.uk/imagegen.ashx?width=300&image=/media/18378988/cedia-agm-2026-1.jpg" />
Technical training, smart home systems, high-end audio and wider residential integration were all hot topics at this year's Integrated Systems Europe.

Held at the Fira de Barcelona and co-owned by CEDIA alongside AVIXA, the annual trade expo once again served as a focal point for smart home professionals across EMEA and the wider global market.

Through a programme of training workshops, conference sessions and community events, CEDIA used the show to highlight professional development, industry advocacy and future talent entering the residential technology sector.

“ISE continues to be one of the most important touchpoints for our global community,” said Daryl Friedman, Global President and CEO of CEDIA. “This year’s show reinforced CEDIA’s role at the centre of the smart home conversation by championing education, nurturing future talent, expanding industry visibility, and helping professionals navigate a rapidly changing market with clarity and confidence.”

Technical education was a central component of CEDIA’s programme. Ahead of the main conference schedule, the organisation hosted a fully booked full-day RP32: Audio System Measurement and Verification Workshop.

The hands-on session guided attendees through recommended RP32 procedures, combining classroom instruction with practical measurement exercises using professional tools and software. Participants worked through real-world calibration scenarios, designed to translate technical standards into practical skills applicable to residential installations.

According to CEDIA, feedback reflected a continuing appetite within the sector for deeper technical training, particularly around performance verification and audio system design. Significantly, the strong demand for the workshop was also seen as evidence of the industry’s ongoing focus on raising performance benchmarks in high-end residential audio.

Alongside the technical training sessions, the CEDIA Smart Home Technology Conference brought together approximately 400 attendees over several days, representing an increase of between 60 and 70 per cent compared with the previous year.

More than 40 speakers contributed to the programme, covering topics including artificial intelligence, lighting design, networking infrastructure, wellness technologies, business strategy and industry ethics. Sessions were structured to address the operational and technical challenges faced by integrators while examining emerging opportunities in the smart home market.

Attendees highlighted the practical focus of the sessions, with many noting the value of direct discussion with industry experts and peers working in similar areas of the sector.

Simulateously, the CEDIA Smart Home Technology Stage operated throughout as a free-to-attend forum on the show floor. The programme offered a rolling schedule of presentations and discussions covering sustainability, AI, privacy, wellness and business development.

CEDIA’s 2026 Annual Meeting was held during the show on the Smart Home Technology Stage and was streamed worldwide. The session was led by Amanda Wildman alongside senior leadership including Friedman, Wendy Griffiths, Matt Nimmons, Paul Dolenc and Adam Keplinger.

The leadership team outlined the association’s progress over the past year and set out priorities for 2026, including continued investment in education, industry advocacy and member engagement.

ISE also provided a platform for CEDIA’s work around industry recruitment and skills development. As part of AV Careers Day, the association hosted eight students who had won CEDIA competitions at colleges including Derby, Harlow BMAT and London Design & Engineering UTC.

The initiative was designed to introduce young people to potential careers within the smart home and AV sectors. Activities included demonstrations, hands-on exercises and industry discussions aimed at showing how technical and engineering skills translate into real-world installation work.

Beyond the technical community, CEDIA also used the show to engage more closely with architects and interior designers. A small group of design-build influencers were invited to attend the exhibition and document their experience for social media audiences.

According to CEDIA, content generated during the event reached an estimated 1.1 million followers, helping introduce new audiences to integrated home technology and its role within contemporary residential design.

CEDIA’s activities at ISE 2026 reflected several broader themes shaping the custom installation market. Technical training remains a priority as systems become more complex, while education and recruitment initiatives point to the industry’s need to attract new talent.

At the same time, growing engagement with architects and designers suggests the smart home sector continues to integrate within the wider residential construction and design worlds.

ISE returns to Barcelona, February 2 - 5 2027.

High end speaker specialist Magico unveils stunning S-Series flagship tower

<p>Pricey S7 2026 is a masterpiece of sculpted aluminium and envelope-pushing acoustic engineering</p>

<img src="http://www.insideci.co.uk/imagegen.ashx?width=300&image=/media/18378987/33624_magico-s-series-range.jpg" />
New from California-based Magico, the S7 2026 is the latest flagship for its S Series loudspeaker range, aimed at the ultra-premium residential audio market. Designed and engineered at the company’s facility in the San Francisco Bay Area, the model replaces the long-running S7, which concluded a decade-long production run in 2025.

The new model, scheduled to ship in the third quarter of 2026, draws heavily on technology developed for Magico’s flagship M Series, including engineering methods first deployed in the near-million-pound M9 system.

You’ll need space to accommodate one. Standing nearly1.42 metres tall and weighing 174kg, the S7 2026 is a three-way, five-driver floorstander built around a substantial aluminium enclosure. The cabinet’s curved and sculpted form has been refined through extensive 3D simulation.

During development, Magico engineers reportedly used a Near-Field Scanner (NFS) measurement system to analyse the loudspeaker’s acoustic behaviour across the full three-dimensional sound field. The resulting data allowed the design team to refine on- and off-axis performance and optimise the loudspeaker’s crossover and driver integration.

The S7 2026 employs five units arranged in a three-way configuration, including a 28mm diamond-coated beryllium tweeter derived directly from Magico’s M Series platform. The high-frequency driver uses a powerful neodymium motor system and an acoustically optimised rear chamber intended to reduce distortion and improve power handling.

Midrange duties are handled by a 6-inch driver built around Magico’s Gen 8 Nano-Tec cone, a composite structure featuring an aluminium honeycomb core sandwiched between graphene-reinforced carbon-fibre skins. The design aims to balance low mass with high rigidity and damping, helping to minimise distortion while maintaining accurate transient response.

Low-frequency reproduction is delivered by three 10-inch woofers using the same Gen 8 Nano-Tec cone technology. The vertically aligned woofer configuration mitigates floor-bounce effects and provides a more consistent mid-bass response in typical listening environments.
According to the manufacturer, the enlarged internal cabinet volume, up from 135 litres in the previous flagship to 180 litres, allows bass response to extend an additional 5Hz without affecting sensitivity.

The enclosure itself is constructed from thick aluminium panels. A precision three-foot support system with constrained-layer damping provides mechanical stability.

The speaker is available in a choice of 12 finishes, split across two categories: six Softec powder-coat finishes, designed for durability and texture, and six High Gloss automotive finishes polished to a mirror-like sheen.

Supplied ready to fit with a screwless, clip-in fixing system, the system is suitable for humid environments such as bathrooms, kitchens and conservatories.

Available in black or white, the wall panel incorporates subtle LED indicators that brighten during use and dim automatically in low-light conditions. The approach mirrors the aesthetic cues of the E120, maintaining visual consistency across projects where multiple zones may be deployed. A selectable mono mode allows both channels to be output through both speakers. In practical terms, this provides even sound coverage in spaces where stereo imaging is less critical, such as en-suites or open-plan spaces.

The spec sheet confirms a 2 x 25W Class D amplifier (into 6Ω), specified with 0.07% THD at 1W and a frequency response of 20Hz–20kHz ±1dB. The E60 is optimised for use with Q Acoustics’ in-ceiling, in-wall and outdoor speaker ranges, but it remains fully compatible with third-party passive install speakers.

Wireless audio is delivered via Bluetooth 5.0 with A2DP and AVRCP v1.6 support, enabling two-way control for play, pause and track skip. For fixed sources, an optical digital audio input (16-bit/48kHz) allows straightforward integration with a TV or other digital source, broadening the system’s application beyond background music. Power consumption is rated at 10W typical, with standby below 2W

System expansion is supported through a 3.5mm analogue line output, configurable as fixed or variable, with a maximum level of 670mV. This enables installers to add scale with a subwoofer or external power amplifier, without replacing the core unit.

Operationally, the E60 uses nine touch-sensitive buttons, engineered for reliability in environments where hands may be wet.. The supplied cabling includes two 7m lengths of 19 AWG speaker cable and a 5m DC extension, providing practical flexibility during installation.

The Q Acoustics E60 is available now in black or white, priced at £279 / €359.
Recommended bundles include:
E60 with Qi65CB in-ceiling speakers: £359 / €460
E60 with Qi65C in-ceiling speakers: £399 / €519
E60 with Qi65CE Easyfit in-ceiling speakers: £479 / €619
The system is available direct from Q Acoustics and through independent dealers.

SIM2 to premiere UltraNero4S DUO projector in March at trade-only London showcase

<p>Register here to experience next-gen residential cinema projection</p>

<img src="http://www.insideci.co.uk/imagegen.ashx?width=300&image=/media/18357152/sim2-un4s-duo-crop.jpg" />
Italian projection specialist SIM2 is set to give UK installers and integrators an exclusive first look at its latest residential cinema platform, with the UK premiere of the UltraNero4S DUO taking place at a trade-only showcase in London this March.

TheUK stop on the SIM2 Roadshow and will be hosted at the Ideaworks Experience Centre, offering custom installers, AV retailers and system integrators an early opportunity to see the new UltraNero4S DUO platform in action.

SIM2, which has built its reputation on DLP-based projection and long-term proprietary HDR development, says the UltraNero4S DUO represents a shift in approach rather than an incremental upgrade.

Rather than relying on specification-driven improvements, the platform has been designed around what SIM2 describes as a fundamentally rethought HDR strategy, aimed at delivering greater image stability, depth and dimensional realism in high-end residential cinema environments.

Installers attending the London event will be able to view the system in a controlled reference setting and engage directly with SIM2 engineers and the UK distribution team at CUK Group.

Maurizio Cini, President of SIM2, said the UK market remained strategically important to the company’s residential cinema ambitions: “The UK remains one of the most technically sophisticated markets in residential cinema. With UltraNero4S DUO, we are presenting a platform that reflects years of focused HDR development and a clear commitment to advancing image performance beyond established conventions.”

SIM2 is positioning the UltraNero4S DUO as a new HDR projection platform rather than a single product iteration. The company says this approach is intended to deliver more consistent HDR performance, enhanced depth perception and greater dimensional realism, in dedicated cinema rooms where projection remains the preferred display format.

The trade-only UK showcase will take place on March 10 - 11, 2026, at the Ideaworks Experience Centre, 206 Great Portland Street, London.

With a huge summer of sport ahead, including every World Cup match streamed live on Freely, our continued partnership with Hisense means audiences can look forward to an even better, more seamless viewing experience. Together, we’re making it easier than ever for people across the UK to enjoy brilliant free TV, however they choose to watch.”

Howard Grindrod, Vice President at Hisense UK, added: “Our partnership with Freely has played a key role in the continued evolution of our core product range, ensuring it meets the needs of today’s consumers. Looking at an exciting year ahead, our focus remains on pushing the boundaries of at-home entertainment, particularly as an Official Sponsor of the FIFA World Cup 26. We want fans from every corner of the globe to fully immerse themselves in the action from the comfort of their homes, with UK audiences also able to witness every memorable moment through Freely.”

Not all TV brands, however, are aligning themselves so clearly with the Freely model. Samsung continues to give the platform a cold shoulder across its own TV ranges. Meanwhile, LG Electronics announced yesterday, at a product briefing held in London, that it would not adopt Freely, describing the platform as a rival to its own webOS smart TV ecosystem.

LG confirmed to Inside CI that it is currently in discussions with UK public service broadcasters to deep-link their catch-up and VOD services directly into LG’s webOS EPG environment, creating a parallel platform strategy that would sit in direct competition with Freely.

Q Acoustics launches Easyfit speaker series for faster in-ceiling installations

<p>Installing high-performance in-ceiling speakers has never been so easy, says brand </p>

<img src="http://www.insideci.co.uk/imagegen.ashx?width=300&image=/media/18357150/q-acoustics-qi65ce.jpg" />
Q Acoustics is expanding its CI portfolio with its new Easyfit Speaker Series, a range of in-ceiling loudspeakers designed specifically to simplify installation for custom installers and integrators, while maintaining the brand’s established focus on sound quality and discreet design.

The Easyfit range has been developed to address a familiar challenge in residential AV projects: delivering premium audio performance without adding unnecessary complexity or installation time. The series launches with three 6.5-inch models, the QI65CE, QI65CWE IPX4 and QI65CWE Stereo IPX4, with an 8-inch QI80CE model scheduled to follow later in the year.

All are optimised to partner with Q Acoustics’ E50, E120 and E300A easy-install audio systems, while remaining fully compatible with third-party control and distribution platforms.

Key to their appeal is the Easyfit spring mechanism, engineered to reduce installation time and improve long-term reliability. Instead of traditional screw-clamp fixing systems, each speaker uses four high-tension spring fixings that are primed into a locking position before installation.

Once the speaker is wired and placed into the ceiling void, the installer simply releases each catch, allowing the springs to deploy automatically and secure the unit in place. Removal requires only a screwdriver and a simple push-and-turn action.

The models use polypropylene mid/bass drivers, selected for their balanced bass and mid-range response as well as their suitability for moisture-resistant environments. On the QI65CE, QI65CWE and QI80CE models, the pivoting tweeter can be rotated through 360 degrees and angled up to 22 degrees, enabling high-frequency targeting for listening positions. A high-frequency EQ switch (±1.5 dB) allows further fine-tuning to suit room acoustics, and client preferences.

For bathroom, kitchen and utility room applications, the QI65CWE and QI65CWE Stereo models carry IPX4 certification, providing protection against splashing water from any direction. Zinc-plated grilles, finished in white, combat corrosion in humid environments. Aesthetically, the range adopts a refined, minimalist approach. The inward-bent metal grilles and updated white finish are designed to sit flush.

The Q Acoustics Easyfit Speaker Series will be available from the end of March, priced:
QI65CE 6.5-inch Easyfit In-ceiling Speaker – £249 / €319 (pair)
QI65CWE IPX4 6.5-inch Easyfit In-ceiling Speaker – £299 / €389 (pair)
QI65CWE Stereo IPX4 6.5-inch Easyfit In-ceiling Speaker – £199 / €259 (single)
QI80CE 8-inch Easyfit In-ceiling Speaker – £349 / €449 (pair)

Panasonic hands TV operation over to Skyworth, promises same DNA with new scale

<p>Panasonic will continue to provide after-sales support for all Panasonic TVs</p>

<img src="http://www.insideci.co.uk/imagegen.ashx?width=300&image=/media/18357149/panasonic-2026-lineup.jpg" />

Panasonic has announced a strategic partnership with Shenzhen Skyworth Display Technology. The move will see the Japanese major divest itself of its global TV business, on a region-by-region basis.

Panasonic is the latest Japanese brand to align with large-scale Chinese manufacturing and development, to secure long-term competitiveness, scale and supply-chain resilience.

The partnership was formally announced at Panasonic’s European showcase, by Panasonic CEO Entertainment & communications, Akira Toyoshima. Inside CI had a front row seat for the dramatic news.

“Europe remains a key strategic region for Panasonic, with consumers consistently recognising the exceptional quality and value of our products,” said Toyoshima, before confirming that Skyworth will lead sales, marketing and logistics across participating regions, while Panasonic retains responsibility for AV processing expertise, quality assurance and audiovisual standards.

“The new business model change will leverage the power of Panasonic’s core technical excellence in AV processing, quality and service standards with the global scale economy of Shenzhen Skyworth Display Technology Company‘s manufacturing volume and speed to provide a winning formula for the customer value proposition’’

Paul Darch, CEO of Chungwei RGB, insisted that the transfer would not compromise Panasonic’s brand equity, insisting that joint development would continue on top-end OLED models, preserving the brand’s high-perfromance DNA.

Both companies describe the partnership as a strategic alignment focused on quality, manufacturing scale and global development capability, with Europe identified as a particularly important market. From April 1 2026, Panasonic’s Entertainment Division will reintegrate into Panasonic Corporation.

Panasonic will continue to provide after-sales service and customer support for all Panasonic TVs sold up to March 2026, as well as for models sold thereafter, ensuring continuity for consumers, retailers and professional partners.

The announcement follows the recent joint venture between Sony and China’s TCL, which signalled a similar realignment in the global TV sector. However, Panasonic and Skyworth have not described their arrangement as a comparable joint venture, and neither company has provided detailed structural specifics beyond the operational framework outlined. On current information, it seems partnership is collaborative rather than equity-based, although formal details have not been disclosed.

Regardless, the partnership represents a pragmatic response to the realities of modern display manufacturing: high capital costs, rapid panel innovation cycles, and the growing dominance of large-scale Chinese production ecosystems. By aligning Panasonic’s brand, AV processing expertise and quality control with Skyworth’s manufacturing scale, R&D investment and global logistics infrastructure, the two companies are seeking to create a sustainable model for Panasonic-branded TVs going forward.

The continuation of joint development on high-end OLED models suggests that Panasonic intends to maintain technical differentiation at the premium end, rather than fully commoditising the product portfolio.

Following the partnership announcement, Panasonic confirmed that its European TV line-up for 2026 will combine existing models with new introductions across multiple display types: OLED, QD Mini-LED, QLED, 4K LED and 2K LED.

The brand's current flagship, the Z95B, will continue to hold prime position in the range. Also carried over for 2026, is the Z90B. They will be joined by the Z85C / Z86C (available in 55- and 65-inch screen sizes), featuring a new OLED panel. The numbering difference reflects the use of different smart OS - Google TV for Europe, Fire TV for the UK.

New for 2026 are Glare Free screen technologies, including Glare Free Ultra, Glare Free Max and Glare Free on selected models.

ATC marks design legacy with EL50 Anniversary active tower

<p>Anniversary active 3-way tower is the latest evolution of ATC’s winning design blueprint</p>

<img src="http://www.insideci.co.uk/imagegen.ashx?width=300&image=/media/18344619/el50-rear-amp-close-up.jpg" />
ATC has announced the EL50 Anniversary, a new active 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker that brings together five decades of in-house engineering, loudspeaker design and professional audio heritage.

The latest evolution of ATC’s long-established 50 series design blueprint, drawing on technologies and design principles developed across multiple generations of the company’s flagship loudspeakers. It combines the discrete active tri-amplification architecture first introduced in ATC systems such as the SCM70 in the 1990s, later refined through the SCM50 Anniversary (2004) and SE Series (2014), with the elliptical enclosure concept introduced on the EL150 in 2006.

Designed as a long-term reference product, the EL50 Anniversary is an active, fully integrated system rather than a passive loudspeaker with external amplification. The industrial design features an elliptical cabinet form, leather detailing on the front baffle, and hand-selected veneers, positioning the product for both high-end residential installations and statement listening environments.

An initial limited run of 50 pairs will be produced, each supplied with a hardbound owner’s handbook documenting ATC’s development from its origins as a drive-unit specialist in 1974 to its current position as a globally respected loudspeaker manufacturer. Following this limited edition, the EL50 Anniversary will move into continued production.

At the core of the EL50 Anniversary is a new proprietary 3-channel discrete active Amp-Pack. This integrates balanced input stages, fourth-order active crossovers and three dedicated power amplifier channels delivering 200W (bass), 100W (mid) and 50W (high-frequency) continuous power.

Key engineering developments include new discrete gain blocks in the balanced instrumentation input stage and crossover network, designed to lower the noise floor and reduce distortion. The power supply has been comprehensively redesigned, using individual toroidal transformers for each amplifier channel, plus a separate transformer for the low-voltage supply. This topology improves headroom under demanding loads and reduces intermodulation distortion between channels, contributing to greater clarity and system stability.

For integration into custom installations, the system includes user-selectable input sensitivity for source matching, power on/off trigger input and link control, comprehensive thermal management via a large heatsink, and live fault monitoring for DC offset and temperature. Output stages use discrete MOSFET class A-B amplification.

The cabinet structure uses formed and laminated multi-layer construction to maximise stiffness and internal damping, reducing cabinet-borne colouration in the upper-bass and mid-range. A curved cabinet face and edges reduce edge diffraction, supporting a smoother on- and off-axis frequency response and more consistent in-room performance.

The bass driver is mounted in a precision-turned aluminium ring, bolted into the cabinet face to further increase structural integrity. Finishing details include hand-selected European crown-cut walnut veneers, ebony inlays on the rear panel, high-gloss polyester lacquer, and fine-grained black napa leather panels around the mid and high-frequency drivers and lower front section.

All drive units are designed and manufactured in-house by ATC, and comprise:

SH25-76S ‘S-Spec’ tweeter: A neodymium motor system delivering 2.0 tesla, dual-suspension coil support and a coated fabric dome, providing extended response beyond 25kHz with low harmonic and intermodulation distortion.

SM75-150S ‘Superdome’ mid-range: Covering 380Hz to 3.5kHz, this 75mm dome driver combines a high-power magnet system with a large voice coil and under-hung motor design, enabling high dynamic capability with low compression and consistent performance at all levels.

SB75-234SL bass driver: ATC’s 9-inch Super Linear bass unit uses a Super Linear motor system to reduce 3rd harmonic distortion in the upper-bass/lower-midrange by 10–15dB, with optimised spider and surround geometry allowing large linear excursion for controlled low-frequency output.

The ATC EL50 Anniversary is available from March 2026, priced at £49,500 per pair.

Majority cuts cost of Atmos soundbars with new range

<p>You don’t need to spend big for immersive home cinema sound</p>

<img src="http://www.insideci.co.uk/imagegen.ashx?width=300&image=/media/18344618/bowfell-halo-atmos-system.jpg" />
Award-winning budget audio brand Majority has unveiled a comprehensive soundbar lineup in both 2.1 and 5.1 configurations, at prices that look difficult to resist.

Built around patented 3D Plate technology, Spatial Signage creates a perception of depth behind the LCD panel without the need for 3D glasses or wearable devices.

The approach is said to preserve the sharpness and clarity of 2D content, while introducing natural-looking spatial depth, making it ideal for retail, museums, and experiential installations, where attention capture and visual differentiation are key.

Unveiled at ISE 2026, the first model in the range is an 85-inch display, offering 4K UHD resolution in a 9:16 portrait format. The configuration supports rotating 360-degree visuals, allowing products and environments to be presented from multiple angles within a single digital canvas.

Samsung’s Quantum Processor handles 4K upscaling, 16-bit colour mapping and dynamic HDR refinement. The inclusion of an anti-glare treatment maintains image clarity in high-ambient-light environments.

From an installation perspective, the Spatial Signage display uses an UltraThin 52mm chassis and a 49kg lightweight construction, allowing it to be wall-mounted using a Slim Fit Wall Mount. This reduces the need for bespoke enclosures or showcase-style structures, helping deploy the display in space-constrained or design-sensitive locations.

The 85-inch model is available globally, with 32-inch and 55-inch versions planned.

Content creation and optimisation are supported through a new AI Studio application within Samsung VXT. The tool converts static images into signage-ready video content, without external software, automatically optimising shadows, margins and background treatments. For Spatial Signage in particular, this ensures content is tailored to the display’s depth characteristics, helping maintain visual balance and realism.

“For commercial environments, bringing displays and content solutions together is becoming increasingly important,” said SW Yong, President and Head of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “Glasses-free 3D Spatial Signage, combined with new AI-powered capabilities in Samsung VXT, allows us to deliver a more integrated approach to immersive commercial displays, helping businesses create engaging experiences across a wide range of commercial environments.”

Beyond Spatial Signage, Samsung is extending its supersized commercial display portfolio. New introductions include a 130-inch Micro RGB signage display based on Micro LED technology, and a new 108-inch The Wall All-in-One LED model. The latter is designed to simplify large-format LED deployment through a split-panel structure, enabling faster installation and reduced on-site labour compared with traditional modular LED walls. These additions sit alongside existing ultra-large formats. Typical applications include lobbies, showrooms, boardrooms and commercial spaces.

Samsung is looking to optimise enterprise integration through certified collaboration solutions. Selected supersized displays, including The Wall All-in-One and 115-inch Smart Signage models, are now certified for Cisco collaboration environments, enabling visibility and management within Cisco Control Hub. In parallel, a new partnership with Logitech brings Samsung 4K Smart Signage into Microsoft Teams Rooms Express Install, enabling faster, standardised meeting room installations for corporate and enterprise customers.

Sky integrates Disney+, HBO Max, Netflix and Hayu into single TV platform

<p>Rolling out from March, Sky customers gain acces to the most popular streaming apps alongside Sky Originals and Exclusives</p>

<img src="http://www.insideci.co.uk/imagegen.ashx?width=300&image=/media/18282852/sky-hbo-max-bundle-news.jpg" />
Sky has announced a major expansion of its integrated television platform, bringing together Disney+, HBO Max, Netflix and Hayu within a single Sky TV subscription, in a move that signals a broader shift towards platform consolidation and service aggregation in the UK broadcast and streaming market.

The new structure places global streaming services alongside Sky Originals and Sky Exclusives within one unified Sky TV environment. For the custom installation and professional AV sector, the announcement reflects a clear direction of travel: fewer standalone services, deeper platform integration, and a more centralised content ecosystem within the home.

New customers will be able to access Sky, HBO Max, Disney+, Netflix and Hayu as part of the Sky Ultimate TV package from £24 a month. Existing customers will gain access to a selection of these services as part of their current subscriptions, representing what Sky describes as over £20 of monthly streaming value, depending on platform and package.

From March (date to be confirmed), eligible Sky customers will receive Disney+ Standard with Ads included in their subscription. This applies to Sky Stream and Sky Glass customers with Ultimate TV, Sky Q customers, and Sky Essential TV customers with Sky Cinema.
Customers will be able to upgrade to Disney+ Standard or Premium tiers while retaining the base saving. Existing Disney+ subscribers can also migrate their accounts to Sky, keeping profiles and viewing history.

For integrators, this means Disney+ becomes a native part of the Sky platform environment rather than a standalone OTT app, with content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, Hulu, FX and 20th Century Studios accessible through the Sky interface. Sky Cinema customers will also gain access to a new Disney+ Cinema channel.

HBO Max launches in the UK and Ireland on March 26, with HBO Max Basic with Ads included for Sky Stream and Sky Glass customers on Ultimate TV, and for Sky Q customers.

The service brings HBO drama and Warner Bros. content into the Sky ecosystem, including established titles such as Succession and The Wire, alongside newer productions such as The Pitt, and a selection of Warner Bros. films.

Sky Atlantic will continue to broadcast upcoming HBO series including House of the Dragon, Euphoria and The White Lotus. From July, reality TV service Hayu will also be included in Sky subscriptions.

All services are integrated through Sky OS, the software platform that underpins Sky Stream and Sky Glass. Content from Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and Hayu is aggregated into a single interface, with shared discovery tools including personalised recommendations, unified search, Continue Watching, cross-service playlists and full voice control integration.

From a systems perspective, this creates a single content environment rather than multiple discrete apps, reducing platform fragmentation and simplifying user interaction across services, a development likely to be relevant for multi-room AV installations, managed home environments and custom control system integration.

For new customers, Sky Ultimate TV provides access to the full suite of services from £24 a month. For existing Sky customers, Disney+, HBO Max and Hayu are integrated into current subscriptions.

AWOL Vision debuts 150-inch ALR screen for UST projection

<p>Fresnel ALR Screen redefines large-format home cinema and professional displays</p>

<img src="http://www.insideci.co.uk/imagegen.ashx?width=300&image=/media/18256601/150in-ust-screen-with-aetherion-projector.jpg" />
AWOL Vision has launched a 150-inch Fresnel PET Daylight ALR Screen for ultra-short-throw projection. Intended for residential cinema and commercial environments, the screen is one of the largest ambient-light-rejecting (ALR) solutions seen to date.

Making its debut at ISE, the new screen forms part of AWOL Vision’s wider strategy to push UST projection beyond traditional size and performance limits, addressing long-standing challenges around contrast, brightness and image uniformity at extreme screen sizes.

The 150-inch Fresnel PET Daylight ALR Screen measures 334.9 x 190cm and is based on AWOL Vision’s established Fresnel optical architecture, scaled to support significantly larger installations.

The screen material itself uses an optical-grade PET substrate, selected for dimensional stability, clarity and durability. Suitable for permanent installations, the screen promises consistent image performance under ambient light, enabling large-format projection without the requirement for fully darkened rooms. The screen reflects light from the UST projector while rejecting overhead and side ambient light, preserving contrast and perceived brightness.

The 150-inch Fresnel ALR screen has been developed alongside AWOL Vision’s UST projector range, including the company’s flagship Aetherion Max model. It will ship globally in March, priced €4,999.
