XGIMI has introduced the AURA 3 Max, a flagship ultra‑short‑throw projector that brings 4K 120Hz laser projection and a new Dual Iris optical system into the home theatre for the first time.
The AURA 3 Max leads XGIMI’s new AURA 3 Series, unveiled at IFA 2026 and now available for pre‑order ahead of a Kickstarter launch on October 20.
The line consists of two models, the AURA 3 Max and AURA 3 Pro, both sharing the same core imaging technologies, with the Max positioned as the higher‑performance option for large‑screen installations.
Typical applications include home cinema, sports and media room streaming.
At the core of the AURA 3 Max is XGIMI’s Dynamic Dual Iris optical system. By precisely modulating light output, the projector can deepen blacks, lift highlights and improve shadow detail, giving a more controlled and contrast‑rich image than conventional single‑iris UST designs, says the company.
A RGB Triple Laser engine provides wide colour coverage and high brightness, while the brand’s X‑VISION AI processor optimises tone‑mapping and motion handling across different content types.
The AURA 3 Max can produce a 120‑inch image from around 20cm from the wall, and can scale up to 200 inches for larger dedicated spaces.
The projector supports IMAX Enhanced, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and HLG. Filmmaker Mode is included to preserve original colour grading and frame cadence. XGIMI has also added Anti-RBE (anti‑rainbow‑effect) processing for both 2D and 3D playback, with two pairs of 3D glasses bundled in the box.
Audio is handled by an integrated 80W Harman Kardon sound system.
Beyond video, the AURA 3 Max includes Google TV and XGIMI’s WALL app, which turns the projector into a decorative display; a curated selection of digital artworks can be shown on the wall, allowing the projector to function as an ambient design element as part of a home interior.
The AURA 3 Series launches on Kickstarter on October 20, with pre‑orders now open at XGIMI.com. A $50 deposit secures an additional $200 discount at launch, with final pricing to be confirmed when the Kickstarter campaign goes live.
