US turntable specialist VPI Industries has launched the Model One. Blending classic aesthetics with modern engineering, the deck marks the debut of the company’s Forever Series, a modular platform built for longevity and upgradeability.
Handcrafted in New Jersey by a team with more than 45 years of analogue expertise, the VPI Model One combines a precision aluminium sub-chassis with a traditional wooden plinth, finished in black ash and protected by a clear dust cover.
A three-point suspension system isolates the platter and tonearm assembly from vibration, ensuring stable playback even in challenging environments, while a newly developed motor drive and platter system reduces resonance and enhances clarity. All components are mounted on a solid aluminium base to provide consistent performance.
The turntable’s S-shaped tonearm, influenced by classic Japanese design, is machined from solid aluminium and internally wired with ultra-pure copper to maintain signal integrity. Together, these features aim to deliver the rich, detailed sound associated with VPI’s reference-level products.
Future-proofing has been built into the design. As the first model in the Forever Series, the Model One can be upgraded to future editions, the Model Two and Model Three, as new components and technologies are released. The unit is backed by a 10-year warranty.
John Carroll, Managing Director of VPI’s UK distributor, Renaissance, says: “The Model One delivers the kind of musicality and presence you usually only get from turntables at twice the price. It’s a joy to set up, use, and, most importantly, listen to. It really is tuned for the high life.”
The VPI Model One is available now in the UK, priced at £6,450
