Valerion has announced the availability of an Extended Lens for its flagship VisionMaster Max projector, broadening the installation options for the high-end home cinema model.
The new lens is now open for preorder, with shipments scheduled to begin in late February, marking the first interchangeable optic to arrive for a projector that was designed from the outset with swappable lenses in mind.
Until now, the 4K RGB triple-laser light engine projector has shipped with a standard 0.9–1.5:1 throw ratio lens, optimised for table-top placement and smaller rooms where flexibility is a priority.
The newly introduced Extended Lens shifts that emphasis. By increasing the supported throw ratio to 0.9–2.0:1, it allows the VisionMaster Max to be positioned much further back in the room, making it viable for larger dedicated home cinemas and more traditional long-throw installations. For integrators, this effectively extends the Max’s reach from lifestyle environments into more demanding residential and light commercial projects.
At the core of the new offering is Valerion’s Modular Quick-Swap System. This allows installers to remove the standard lens and fit the Extended Lens quickly and securely, enabling the same projector platform to be adapted to different room geometries without specialist tools or lengthy recalibration. The lens is engineered to maintain edge-to-edge sharpness and colour fidelity, preserving the image quality expected of Valerion’s flagship model.
The Extended Lens supports projection sizes of up to 300 inches, opening up opportunities for large-format screens in dedicated theatres and expansive spaces. Valerion says the optical design has been tuned to avoid colour loss or degradation, ensuring consistency with the projector’s native triple-laser performance.
The lens features a premium aluminium construction and includes a magnetic lens cap for protection. It is supplied in aerospace-grade packaging, housed in a custom metal flight case and finished with a leather outer box, underscoring its role as a professional accessory rather than a casual add-on.
For custom installers, the practical benefit is clear: the VisionMaster Max can now be specified across a wider range of projects, from compact media rooms to large, purpose-built home cinemas.
The VisionMaster Max Extended Lens is available for preorder now through Valerion’s online store and selected retail partners, with shipping due to commence in late February 2026. Pricing has yet to be confirmed.
In related news, Valerian manufacturer AWOL Vision is rolling out its Anti-RBE (rainbow effect) technology across its entire premium long-throw projector lineup.
Originally developed for the flagship VisionMaster Max, Valerion’s Anti-RBE technology addresses one of the most widely discussed limitations of DLP projection systems - momentary rainbow flashes. These flashes can occur during fast-moving scenes or high-contrast imagery, when rapid colour separation results in brief red, green, and blue artifacts.
To eliminate this distraction, Valerion’s Anti-RBE solution increases the projector’s refresh rate and applies advanced image-processing algorithms that blend color sequences at speeds said to be imperceptible to the human eye. The result is a smooth, unified image that effectively removes the rainbow effect while preserving image clarity, brightness, and motion sharpnes.
The technology will be integrated into Valerion’s preexisting range including the VisionMaster Pro, VisionMaster Pro 2, StreamMaster Plus and StreamMaster Plus 2 at no cost to existing users.
