This new Flexson mount installs Sonos directly into the ceiling void

Accessory specialist Flexson has launched an in‑ceiling mount that allows a Sonos Era 100, Era 100 Pro or Sonos One / One SL to be installed directly into the ceiling void, creating a fully self‑contained Sonos zone without the need for a rack‑mounted amplifier or passive speakers.

The new In‑Ceiling Mount (FLXE100ICM1011) places the speaker in a purpose‑built cradle inside the ceiling, concealed behind a paintable grille, available in round or square designs.

Once installed, the speaker sits flush with the ceiling, delivering a clean, unobtrusive finish. The mount is engineered specifically for Sonos hardware, with integrated cable management and a serviceable layout that keeps the installation tidy.

The product is aimed at projects where a conventional Sonos CI system is impractical. A typical Sonos in‑ceiling zone requires a Sonos Amp, passive speakers, rack space and cable runs back to a central location. Many jobs simply don’t have that flexibility - retrofits, apartments, smaller rooms and cost‑sensitive projects often need a more compact approach.

By placing the speaker itself in the ceiling, Flexson removes the need for an amplifier entirely, reducing both first‑fix time and overall system cost.

The mount is compatible with three Sonos models.

The Era 100 Pro, with Power over Ethernet, offers the most streamlined workflow: where CAT5e or CAT6 is already present, a single cable delivers both power and audio, eliminating the need for a local mains spur and reducing electrical call‑backs.

The standard Era 100 and Era 100 SL drop straight into the mount for a wireless in‑ceiling zone, while the Sonos One and One SL provide a budget‑friendly option for clients who already own older speakers but want a more architectural finish.

All models run on the Sonos S2 platform, ensuring a consistent user experience regardless of the speaker chosen.
