Why specify a conventional office in your smart home, when a Smart Pod will do more for less? That’s the question posed by Finnish specialist Framery, as it launches a second generation of self-contained work and communications stations.
The Framery One, optimised for video calls, was launched in 2021. Things have moved on apace.
This new generation of Smart Pods use the same millimetre radar technology as cars lane assist features to detect pod occupancy, automating lighting and ventilation, plus showing the space as booked.
The pods also have an adaptive airflow that replaces the pods’ air every 60 seconds. Intelligent lighting is able to mimic natural daylight. There’s also an optimised video call mode for perfect lighting for that next Zoom, Teams or Google Meet.
There’s a patent-pending acoustic structure tuned to human speech frequency able to A-class soundproofing. The Framery Office Sound Masking System™ Embedded sound masking uses a proprietary sound spectrum to reduce speech intelligibility and noise distractions in areas outside of the pods.
The Pods have a built-in 4G connection which enables automatic upgrades and over the-air software updates with or without a Wi-Fi connection. Pods can be pre-booked using Microsoft or Google calendars.
The new Framery Smart Pod range comprises the Framery One Compact, a smart one-person phone booth; Framery One smart one-person workstation; Framery Four, a smart meeting pod for up to 4 people; and the Framery Six, a larger smart meeting room for up to 6 personsThe Smart Pods are fully customisable, with up to 3000 different colour combinations. A new modular, durable design, with replaceable elements, means the smart pods have a longer lifespan. The technology and the furniture can be changed as needed.
Framery CEO, Samu Hällfors, says: “It’s time to update how we think about the office. It’s no longer enough to simply provide a place to work. At Framery, we've gathered more than 8,000 pieces of user feedback to create the ultimate privacy pods, made for people. It’s a transformative move that marks the start of the smart pod era and the culmination of our own evolution from a furniture company to a technology brand.”
Prices start from £6,000.
