Technics has unveiled a new streaming amplifier, its first to include an HDMI ARC connection.
The SU-GX70 joins Technics Grand Class portfolio and expands the connectivity options open to Hi-Fi enthusiasts, as it positions itself as a cutting edge music hub.
Physical connectivity includes two line inputs, three digital inputs, USB-A, and USB-B, and a high-grade low-noise phono EQ for turntables with a moving magnet pickup cartridge. Wireless options comprise Wi-Fi, AirPlay 2, and Bluetooth. The SU-GX70 also boasts FM, DAB+, and Internet radio support.
The SU-GX70 is designed around the Chromecast platform for Spotify, TIDAL, Deezer, Qobuz, and Amazon Music HD. There’s also support for MQA hi-res audio streaming.
The network amp utilises Technic’s low-noise JENO Engine (Jitter Elimination and Noise-Shaping Optimization) technology and is rated at 2 x 40W into 8 Ohms.
It also includes a new Twin Power Supply for superior signal-to-noise ratio, while the Clean Power Clock Generator technology taken from Technics’ Reference Class components promises high-precision audio accuracy.
Available in both silver and black finishes, the Technics SU-GX70 will be available in June 2023, priced at £1,699.99.
