Tannoy has thrown a spotlight on network-centric audio systems, unveiling the CVS 601 PoE and DVS 601 PoE loudspeakers at ISE 2026.
Launched as part of Tannoy’s 100th anniversary programme, the CVS 601 PoE and DVS 601 PoE are based on the familiar CVS ceiling and DVS surface-mount platforms, but with Power over Ethernet connectivity.
By carrying power, audio and control over a single standard Ethernet cable, the PoE design reduces the need for local power supplies and additional cabling. The range will be offered in both ceiling and surface-mount configurations.
The move to PoE reflects growing demand from integrators for simplified infrastructure in retail, hospitality, corporate and education projects, says the company, where speed of deployment and system scalability are increasingly important.
At the core of both models is a wideband 6.5-inch driver designed to deliver clear speech intelligibility alongside balanced music reproduction.
Each CVS 601 PoE and DVS 601 PoE speaker incorporates a two-channel integrated PoE amplifier delivering up to 60 watts of output power via PoE++. Beyond the main loudspeaker, the amplifier is capable of powering up to three additional passive speakers. This hybrid architecture allows installers to create small zones or distributed systems from a single network connection, reducing hardware requirements and overall system cost.
We expect the Tannoy CVS 601 PoE and DVS 601 PoE speakers to be available from Q2 2026. Pricing is TBC.
