Salisbury-based hi-fi company Symphony Distribution is promising wider distribution of Tannoy loudspeakers, after signing a ‘super partner’ UK distribution deal with the legendary audio brand.

The new arrangement is announced as the near-100-year-old hi-fi company steps up production following a huge investment into its UK operation, and rolls out new British-made models from its factory.

Daniel Raggett, Director of Symphony Distribution said, “I am absolutely delighted and honoured to be representing Tannoy, a company with such an enormous history not only in the hi-fi world, but in the world itself. The product build quality, from the entry-level Autograph Mini to the show stopping Tannoy Westminster, is absolutely second to none.”

David McCaffrey, Global Brand Category Leader for Tannoy added, “I'm thrilled to announce the appointment of Symphony Distribution as our Super Partner in the UK. Daniel Raggett shares the same core values and passion for Tannoy. Daniel has built up a fantastic reputation in the UK and I know Symphony will play a key role in the success and growth of Tannoy hi-fi in the UK territory.”

The Tannoy range begins with the Autograph Mini (£2,199), stretching to the Westminster Royal GR (£54,995).

Established in 1926, Tannoy is the fifth-oldest hi-fi company in the world. Based in Hamilton, Scotland, it was founded as the Tuslemere Manufacturing Company in 1926, by Guy Fountain. In 1928 it changed its name to Tannoy, which was derived from the materials used in the manufacture of its rectifiers: Tantalum/Lead Alloy.
