Swann has expanded its AdvancedX range with a new wired 3K/5MP NVR CCTV system, designed to provide uninterrupted 24/7 recording via a hard-wired connection. Able to continuously record to a 1TB internal hard drive, the system offers up to six months of footage retention, all without ongoing subscription costs.
Live monitoring is available via the Swann Security app or a direct HDMI connection, giving users flexibility during setup and daily use. Crucially, recorded footage is accessible without requiring an active internet connection, an important consideration for off-grid or secure environments.
The cameras deliver 3K/5MP resolution, allowing installers and end-users to capture and review fine detail, with enough clarity to identify faces, vehicle plates and other key visual markers. Swann also integrates its Night2Day colour night vision, which maintains colour footage up to 50ft/15m in low light, switching to black-and-white infrared up to 100ft/30m where necessary.
Built-in video analytics support person and vehicle detection, while sound detection and integrated spotlights add a layer of deterrence. When motion or noise is detected, the system can trigger lighting and push notifications to the user’s mobile device.
Each camera also features an integrated microphone for audio capture, providing additional context to recorded events. With wired power and data, the system avoids the instability sometimes associated with wireless alternatives.
Swann says it has engineered the cameras for year-round exterior use, with an operating range between -30°C and +55°C, ensuring suitability for varied European climates.
With no subscription fees and full control over footage storage, the AdvancedX range will appeal to installers looking for predictable costs and straightforward user handover.
The Swann AdvancedX wired 3K/5MP NVR security system is available now. The 4-Camera Kit retails for £429.99 (€499.99), with extra cameras priced £69.99 (€79.99).
