French home theatre specialist StormAudio has introduced the Immersive Sound Receiver Fusion 20, its first 20-channel receiver with 16 channels of Edge amplification onboard.
Edge amplification is a development of Danish-based ICE Power. The receiver boasts remarkably low levels of noise and distortion, and can deliver 150W (80hm) per channel and 500W (80hm) when bridged.
The new high-end hotshot can decode all key immersive formats up to 11.1.8 (including Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, Auro-3D, and IMAX Enhanced), and uses DSP post-processing to optimise any speaker to a listening room, straight out of the box.
Utilising the most advanced implementation of Dirac Live Active Room Treatment for room calibration, it offers support for up to 20 parametric EQs per channel, and can accommodate an unlimited number of subwoofers, says the brand.
The new receiver is based on StormAudio's ISP Elite MK3 design, and offers comparable audio performance. Proprietary analogue/digital hybrid volume adjustment maximizes the dynamic range for a more accurate, detailed, and dynamic reproduction of movie soundtracks and music playlists.
While the ISR Fusion 20 has a fixed architecture, it features an upgradable HDMI board, ready for any required upgrade. At launch, it supports HDMI2.1a/HDCP2.3 up to 8k/4k120Hz, with HDR10+, HLG and Dolby Vision support, alongside ARC/eARC.
Control comes via an included IR remote control and companion smartphone app, as well as integration with automation systems.
