Invisible speaker specialist Stealth Acoustics has unveiled its 8th generation LineaRadiance family of speakers and subwoofers.
The next evolution of its flat radiating diaphragm speakers, L-RAD speakers become completely invisible after installation in a wall or ceiling. On-site finishing options include latex paint, light wallpaper, fabrics and selected texture coats, leaving no visual footprint.
Applications are both commercial and residential. They can function as part of a home theatre system, a multiroom audio solution or used simply to provide ambiance.
Featuring hand-built craftmanship and made in the USA, these new generation inside-wall speakers boast a raft of new features, including upgraded internal components and an integrated, acoustically tuned back box, now injection moulded.
New components include the Fidelity Glass Advanced tuned and dampened fibre diaphragm, a new woofer mounting system for increased internal air volumes, an Easy-Tape tapered frame/diaphragm edge for improved finishing, and new transducer/exciter driver designs for increased performance and efficiency.
Nine models are planned for the LineaRadiance family, starting with the L-RAD 116 and the L-RAD 430 which are available now. Seven additional models, including a single-panel stereo model and two subwoofer models will follow over the next 12 months.
The L-RAD-116 is a high performance 2-way model with a 6.5-inch woofer mounted on an all-new 16 x 16-inch frame. Two independent protection circuits (high/mid-frequency and low-frequency sections) automatically reset upon reduction of excessive amplifier power.
The larger L-RAD 430 is a 3-way speaker with dual high-power 8-inch woofers, a 30mm direct coupled neo-magnet mid-frequency driver, and a 25mm direct coupled neo-magnet high-frequency driver mounted on an all-new 16 x 30-inch frame.
Advanced internal materials allow for smooth frequency extension from 20kHz down to 35Hz. The L-RAD 430 contains two independent protection circuits (high/mid-frequency and low-frequency sections) that automatically reset upon reduction of excessive amplifier power.
“In 2023, we expanded our facility, increasing our speaker assembly areas and adding an injection moulding machine in order to be able to create the 8th generation of our invisible speakers,” says Brian Azzano, Vice President of Stealth Acoustics.
“Each speaker is hand-assembled, inspected, and tested both by ear and computer to ensure top quality.”
