Sony takes top hardware honour at ERT Awards 2022

Sony was the big hardware winner at this year’s ERT Awards, taking the gong for its A95K OLED Master Series TV. It’s the second year in a row that the brand has won this category.

The event, organised by the electrical retailing trade magazine, took place at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London. The awards celebrate the best and brightest across the UK electrical retail sector. The event was hosted by comedian Dominic Holland.

When it came to the domestic appliances awards, Hoover was recognised for its H-Wash 500 washing machine, while the Smeg BCC02 Bean-to-Cup Coffee Machine was deemed Best Small Appliance.

Best Supplier Customer Service went to Samsung, while the Training Provider Award was picked up by Miele GB.

Moss of Bath picked up the Best Independent Consumer Electronics Retailer Small accolade, while The Powerhouse (Jersey Electricity) picked up Best Independent Consumer Electronics Retailer Large.

Best Independent Domestic Appliances Retailer Large was awarded to NE Appliances, while Best Independent Domestic Appliances Retailer Small, went to Abbey Appliances.

Editor of ERT magazine, Jack Cheeseman, said: “During these quite challenging times, it’s never been more important for retailers to emphasise the value and the service they can offer and I think for many it’s been working well, as sales have continued to be strong.

“But manufacturers and retailers also must work closely together to provide genuinely useful products, plus convenience at every step of the shopper’s journey to ensure they return to spend again in the future.

“And that is what the ERT Awards is all about, celebrating some of the most forward-thinking businesses in our sector and recognising the best consumer electronics and home appliance products out there too.”
