Sony has priced its incoming BRAVIA XR A80J 4K HDR OLED TVs and entry-level X80J/X81J 4K LED TVs. The former are part of its eagerly anticipated BRAVIA XR line-up based on the new Cognitive Processor XR, which employs a completely new processing methodology for more naturalistic image processing The 55-, 65- and 77-inch A80J OLEDs will sell for £1999, £2699 and £4199 respectively, which appears a competitive price for the technology.
Enabled by Cognitive Processor XR, the OLED models support 4K 120fps gaming support and offer access to the BRAVIA CORE streaming service with access to IMAX Enhanced movies. BRAVIA CORE uses Pure Stream technology to achieve near lossless UHD BD equivalent quality with streaming up to 80 Mbps. They also debut the new Google TV smart platform.
The X80J/X81J 4K LED TVs will be available in 43-, 50-, 55-, 65- and 75-inch screen sizes, priced at £699, £799, £899, £1049 and 1499 respectively. All models support Dolby Vision HDR with Dolby Atmos. This line does not appear to support a 4k 120fps input.
The BRAVIA XR A80J 4K HDR OLED TVs and X80J/X81J 4K LED TVs will become available to pre-order in March.
