Sony is now taking pre-orders for its upcoming flagship BRAVIA XR X95J 4K HDR Full Array LED TV and X85J 4K HDR LCD model.
The former, a CES 2021 Innovation Award winner, features the brand’s Cognitive Processor XR, which it says goes beyond conventional AI.
While conventional AI systems detect and analyse picture elements like colour, contrast and detail individually, the new Cognitive Processor XR can cross-analyse an array of elements at once, like the human brain says Sony. ‘By doing so, all elements are adjusted in conjunction with each other for best final outcome, so everything in the scene is synchronised and lifelike – something that conventional AI cannot achieve.’
Cognitive Processor XR will also upconvert any sound to 3D surround, for an immersive soundscape.
BRAVIA XR X95J 4 also features Sony’s exclusive BRAVIA Core streaming service. Pre-loaded on all new BRAVIA XR models, users can enjoy a selection of classic titles from the Sony library, as well as the largest IMAX Enhanced collection available. BRAVIA Core uses Pure Stream technology, and promises near lossless UHD BD equivalent quality with streaming up to 80 Mbps.
Both the X95J and X85J TVs hope to win over gamers, with 4k 120fps support, VRR and ALLM.
The 85- and 75-inch XR X95J and X85J (available in 85-, 75-, 65-, 55-, 50- and 43-inch screen sizes) LCD TVs will be on sale from June. A 65-inch X95J model is planned for later this year.
