Sony is back in the European projection business, confirming today that its highly rated BRAVIA home cinema projectors and business projectors will resume shipping in the European market starting this month, after a 2-month interruption, following recent amendments to EU export control regulations and trade restrictions.

The eagerly awaited BRAVIA Projector 7 will also be making its European debut this summer.

The company says that all products returning to market will be shipped under current technical specifications, with availability aligned to Sony’s regional logistics schedules.

The BRAVIA Projector 7 (aka VPL-XW5100), announced in the US but excluding Europe, will join the existing home cinema line-up.
Sony’s BRAVIA Projector 7 boasts XR Processor for projector and high-brightness laser technology, and features XR Dynamic Tone Mapping, Deep Black, TRILUMINOS PRO, and Clear Image technology.

With IMAX Enhanced compatibility and a 2,200-lumen laser light source in a new compact design, it’s suitable for both movies and low-latency 4K 120fps gaming.

“We’re delighted to be able to resume shipping of our projectors, including our latest BRAVIA Projector 8 and BRAVIA Projector 9 for home cinema, seamlessly across Europe and we’re excited to introduce the BRAVIA Projector 7 later this summer,” said Rik Willemse, Head of Professional Displays and Solutions, Sony Europe. “These products have remained available in other regions, and we’re now focused on meeting European customer demand as swiftly as possible. We’re glad to be back and appreciate the continued understanding and support of our partners and customers.”
