Sonus faber is hitting all the right notes with the latest release of its Homage collection loudspeakers. The Italian-made line, which first debuted in 1993 with the Guarneri, pays homage to the musical instruments that inspired its creation.
These four new models, the Guarneri G5, Serafino G2 (pictured above), Amati G5 and the Vox G3, promise a symphony of sound, with their class-leading technology and luxurious finishes of red, wenge and graphite.
Sonus faber says its recent acquisition of the De Santi woodworking facility has allowed for dramatic improvements in the cabinets, bracing and porting system, allowing for greater efficiency and output while maintaining that sweet resonance control.
Key features include new Intono technology, a proprietary Sonus faber innovation said to significantly reducing impedance peaks. Intono is available in the Amati G5 and Sefafino G2.
The Amati and Serafino models also benefit from a new 150 mm natural fibre midrange driver, plus a new shorter and wider voice coil for greater control, a faster response and more overall force.
The Serafino’s bass driver has also been updated with a new coil and spider material, optimised for greater air movement and bass extension. Amati similarly benefits from a new 220 mm bass driver.
The Homage collection retains the classic lute shape, but with smooth, rounded edges and a graphite grey anodised finish, making it the perfect addition to any audiophile's Beethoven-approved sound system.
Available to order now, the Homage Guarneri G5 is priced at £13,000 (dedicated Guarneri stand £3,200); Serafino G2 £22,000; Amati G5 £30,000 and Vox G3 £14,000.
Distribution is through Fine Sounds UK.
