Sky has announced a major expansion of its integrated television platform, bringing together Disney+, HBO Max, Netflix and Hayu within a single Sky TV subscription, in a move that signals a broader shift towards platform consolidation and service aggregation in the UK broadcast and streaming market.

The new structure places global streaming services alongside Sky Originals and Sky Exclusives within one unified Sky TV environment. For the custom installation and professional AV sector, the announcement reflects a clear direction of travel: fewer standalone services, deeper platform integration, and a more centralised content ecosystem within the home.

New customers will be able to access Sky, HBO Max, Disney+, Netflix and Hayu as part of the Sky Ultimate TV package from £24 a month. Existing customers will gain access to a selection of these services as part of their current subscriptions, representing what Sky describes as over £20 of monthly streaming value, depending on platform and package.

From March (date to be confirmed), eligible Sky customers will receive Disney+ Standard with Ads included in their subscription. This applies to Sky Stream and Sky Glass customers with Ultimate TV, Sky Q customers, and Sky Essential TV customers with Sky Cinema.
Customers will be able to upgrade to Disney+ Standard or Premium tiers while retaining the base saving. Existing Disney+ subscribers can also migrate their accounts to Sky, keeping profiles and viewing history.

For integrators, this means Disney+ becomes a native part of the Sky platform environment rather than a standalone OTT app, with content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, Hulu, FX and 20th Century Studios accessible through the Sky interface. Sky Cinema customers will also gain access to a new Disney+ Cinema channel.

HBO Max launches in the UK and Ireland on March 26, with HBO Max Basic with Ads included for Sky Stream and Sky Glass customers on Ultimate TV, and for Sky Q customers.

The service brings HBO drama and Warner Bros. content into the Sky ecosystem, including established titles such as Succession and The Wire, alongside newer productions such as The Pitt, and a selection of Warner Bros. films.

Sky Atlantic will continue to broadcast upcoming HBO series including House of the Dragon, Euphoria and The White Lotus. From July, reality TV service Hayu will also be included in Sky subscriptions.

All services are integrated through Sky OS, the software platform that underpins Sky Stream and Sky Glass. Content from Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and Hayu is aggregated into a single interface, with shared discovery tools including personalised recommendations, unified search, Continue Watching, cross-service playlists and full voice control integration.

From a systems perspective, this creates a single content environment rather than multiple discrete apps, reducing platform fragmentation and simplifying user interaction across services, a development likely to be relevant for multi-room AV installations, managed home environments and custom control system integration.

For new customers, Sky Ultimate TV provides access to the full suite of services from £24 a month. For existing Sky customers, Disney+, HBO Max and Hayu are integrated into current subscriptions.
