Audio outfit Shanling has launched the SM1.3 music streamer, a compact Android-based music system with an impressive feature specification.
The model employs an AKM4499EX DAC and AK4191 modulator, and offers comprehensive input and output stages which cater for a variety of audio set ups. The unit also sports a TPA6120 dedicated headphone amp for private listening sessions.
Measuring 28cm x 28cm x 110cm, the SM1.3 has native support for streaming apps such as Spotify, TIDAL, Apple Music, Apple Classical and Amazon Music, as well as a USB input for flash drives and a M.2 SSD slot for larger digital music collections. Integrators can install it as a DLNA compatible music hub.
The fascia is dominated by a large 5.8-inch touchscreen. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6, AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth 5.2 with both LDAC and APTX HD. Physical ports include optical and coaxial digital audio, as well as RCA and XLR analogue stage. Also present is a I2S digital output with an FPGA offering 10 compatibility modes. Control options include the Eddict app for Android and iOS.
The Shanling SM1.3 is available from November 8, and will retail for £1199 ($1199 / €1199).
