Specialist UK distributor Sound Design Distribution is now shipping Lumin’s U2 Mini digital transport, the latest addition to its audiophile music streaming portfolio.
This transport-only device is designed to partner an external DAC, and features the brand’s all-new processing system and upsampling and downsampling to every supported format up to DSD256/PCM348.
The U2 Mini enables network playback up to DSD512 and 768kHz, 16–32-bit stereo and MQA Decoding, with sampling in both directions from 44.1kHz to 384kHz/DSD256.
Hardware features carried over from U1 Mini include Lumin’s advanced quad clocking system and five digital outputs: USB (here capable of Native DSD512 support), AES EBU, coaxial BNC, coaxial RCA and optical digital.
Audio file format support covers DSD Lossless, PCM Lossless: FLAC, Apple Lossless, WAV, and AIFF; MP3, AAC and MQA. The U2 Mini is also Roon Ready and compatible with Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, FLAC, Lossless Radio, TuneIn Radio and AirPlay. Playback is gapless.
The Lumin control app has native support for TIDAL, MQA, Qobuz and TuneIn Radio, as well as volume control, high-resolution artwork display, automatic internet links to artists/album/songs, and the saving and restoring of playlists (including Tidal and Qobuz).
