Samsung has launched a gigantic 98-inch Q80C QLED TV. The monster set has been introduced to meet a growing demand in the UK and Europe for larger screens and immersive entertainment experiences.
To sweeten the deal, Samsung is offering consumers free delivery and installation, worth £585, plus £1,000 off when recycling their old TV, as well as a free Q600C soundbar, worth £599.
The super-sized Q80C features a 4K Neural Quantum Processor, and uses AI Upscaling technology to enhance image quality. Quantum HDR+ technology promises a superior black level and brightness performance, 100 per cent colour volume courtesy of Quantum Dot filtering. Colour authenticity has been all validated by Pantone.
The set’s SuperSlim design features Dolby Atmos audio. The set uses Samsung’s Object Tracking Sound Lite system for theatrical audio.
It also has Q-Symphony support, for integrated soundbar playback with the set’s own built-in speakers.
Additional features include the blue-light reducing EyeComfort mode, an intelligent picture setting designed to automatically adjust the screen’s brightness and tone based on a built-in light sensor and sunset to sunrise information.
In addition to the Tizen Smart Hub, there’s also the Samsung Gaming Hub, a cloud-based app with a wide selection of games including Fortnite, Forza and Minecraft Legends.
Console games are said to run smoother with the Q80C’s Motion Xcelrator Turbo+ mode, while FreeSync Premium Pro provides tear free, stutter free low-latency HDR gaming.
In addition to a huge range of streaming SVoD services, there’s also Samsung TV Plus, a unique collection of Samsung linear TV channels. The set is also compatible with Philips Hue Sync smart lighting.
“This new, super-sized addition to our QLED line-up is especially exciting, providing a more immersive entertainment experience, making movies feel like you’re at the theatre, sporting events like you’re really in the stadium and gaming like you are in the middle of all the action,” says Jose Barreiro-Lopez, Vice President of the Europe Visual Display Office, Samsung Europe.
The 98-inch Q80C retails for £6,499.
