The Ruark R610 music system and Sabre-R bookshelf speakers aim to recapture the approachable style of bygone stereo music systems, while delivering hi-res streaming, and seamless ease of use. Family owned Ruark Audio has been crafting high-fidelity loudspeakers since 1985, and we're big fans of its vintage inflected design language.

Boasting hand-crafted cabinetry, the R610 offers tactile soft-touch buttons, the brand's RotoDial, and a matching Bluetooth remote. A crisp colour display presents album art, streaming details, and user commands.

At its heart is a high-performance 75 watt per channel amplifier powered by a switch-mode power supply. Burr-Brown DACs and audio-grade components promise controlled, dynamic sound, no matter what genre you favour.

Naturally, there’s support for both digital and physical formats. A phono preamp enables easy vinyl playback, while CD fans can connect Ruark’s matching £250 R-CD100 CD Player via the USB port. The inclusion of HDMI ARC also ensures the R610 can also serve as an external TV sound system. Wireless functionality covers Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, and internet radio.

The partnering Sabre-R speaker is a 2-way bass reflex design, featuring a 26mm silk dome tweeter and 15cm treated natural fibre cone woofer. Quoted frequency response is 50Hz – 20KHz.

The Ruark Audio R610 sells for £1,200. The Sabre-R Bookshelf Speakers are sold separately, priced at £699 a pair.
