The Roon-iverse continues to expand, with news that the JBL SA750 amplifier and Arcam ST30 have both been certified Roon Ready.
The SA750, with its milled aluminium face-panel and teak panels may draw inspiration from JBL’s SA600 and SA660 amplifiers from the 1960s and 1970s, but with Roon streaming technology built-in, the retro-style is on the cutting-edge. It transparently discovers and connects to Roon, without any configuration, to deliver bit-perfect audio.
The SA750’s class G amplifier that delivers 120W of power per channel into 8Ω; it’s also compatible with Apple AirPlay 2 and Google Chromecast; and features a switchable MM/MC phono input; plus Dirac Live room calibration.
Similarly, the ST60 is Arcam’s first dedicated network player, and will discover and connect to Roon, without any configuration required. Roon Ready certificated products also enable effortless multiroom playback, letting users wirelessly connect Roon devices, including all of Arcam’s AVRs, plus its SA30 class G integrated amplifier, as well as the ST60.
Roon now works with nearly 200 audio brands – including Bowers & Wilkins, Denon, Devialet, KEF, Harman, McIntosh, and Naim Audio. The technology works with network streamers, DACs, wireless speakers, all-in-one systems, and AV receivers.
Recent announcements about lossless and high-resolution streaming from Apple Music and others have kindled new interest in high-quality audio, the company reports.
