Roku has expanded its UK content portfolio with the launch of more than 40 Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV (FAST) channels, now available via The Roku Channel and the platform’s new Live TV Zone. The rollout is designed to increase the breadth of no-cost entertainment available to households, with all channels accessible without subscriptions, payments or account registration.

The expanded line-up spans live sport, entertainment, lifestyle programming and true crime, further strengthening Roku’s position in the competitive free-to-watch streaming market. Sports titles such as PGA TOUR, MLB and TNA Wrestling join popular entertainment strands including Deal or No Deal and Fear Factor. Additional offerings include The Bold and the Beautiful, The Martha Stewart Channel, This Old House, Unsolved Mysteries, Untold Stories of the ER, and a selection of nature and pet-focused channels.

The channels appear automatically within The Roku Channel and Live TV Zone on all current Roku streaming players and Roku TV models in the UK, enabling viewers to start watching immediately. Roku says the move is aimed at improving access to curated, easily discoverable free content, with no sign-in process to act as a barrier to entry.

For custom installers, the expansion reinforces Roku’s positioning as a low-maintenance streaming ecosystem suited to a wide range of residential deployments. The company’s TV partners in the UK, including JVC, Sharp and Polaroid, offer Roku-powered screens from compact HD sets to larger 4K HDR models. All run the Roku OS, providing streamlined navigation, voice search and personalised recommendations. Roku’s standalone streaming players deliver the same interface and features for integration with third-party displays.

The addition of new FAST channels broadens the platform’s appeal at a time when clients increasingly expect a mix of subscription services and free streaming options within a unified interface. Roku says it will continue developing its free content offering across both owned and partner devices.
