Rithum Switch Pro adds Audio Intercom as standard

Smart home control company Rithum has announced a new Audio Intercom feature, which will be included as standard with the Rithum Switch Pro.

The feature allows users to accept and engage in bidirectional SIP calls from compatible door intercoms, and brings real-time communication at the touch of a button, eliminating the need for standalone intercom panels.

Following the rollout of Audio Intercom, Rithum says it will also launch a Video Streaming plugin, expanding the device’s intercom capabilities further. This will enable RTSP h.264/h.265 video streaming, allowing users to view live feeds from compatible intercom cameras or external CCTV cameras.

One strength of Rithum’s Video Intercom solution is its broad industry compatibility. The system supports key smart home and security standards, including SIP and RTSP, ensuring integration with a wide range of intercom brands. The feature has already undergone successful testing with 2N and Doorbird intercoms, two of the most widely used brands in the pro-installation space.

Additionally, the RTSP video feed does not need to originate solely from the door intercom. Instead, integrators can configure the system to pull a video stream from an external CCTV camera, offering greater flexibility for surveillance and access control setups.

Another benefit is that calls and video streams are processed locally, ensuring fast response times and improved security without reliance on cloud-based services. This effectively makes the Rithum Switch Pro a multi-functional, scalable communication platform well suited to high-end smart home installations.

Audio Intercom is included at no additional cost with the Rithum Switch Pro. It’s the latest evolution of the Rithum Switch Pro, which recently announced integration with Loxone and Control4 ecosystems.
