RGB Communications has been appointed as the exclusive UK and Eire distributor of Polar Bear Design, provider of premium keypads and thermostats for the home automation, luxury hotel and superyacht markets.
Polar Bear Design provides a high-end, customer centric user interface for commercial-grade heating, air conditioning and cooling systems, effectively bridging the gap between the commercial and high-end residential sectors.
Included in its range is the Zentium Pro thermostat, awarded ‘Best New Hardware’ at the Cedia Awards 2020. The Zentium Pro offers complete dual room climate control, giving users the ability to monitor and control the heating and cooling of two rooms independently from a single interface. The thermostat can also control radiators, including towel rails and air conditioning units.
One benefit for installers, says the distributor, is that this removes the need for additional building management systems (BMS) for air conditioning control, a substantial saving for building developers, installers, and the end-user. RGB will offer training and support to the CEDIA AV Installers.
The thermostat can be used stand alone, or combined with intelligent lighting control keypads, such as the Lutron Palladiom, SeeTouch, Pico or Crestron Horizon. It can also be integrated with Savant, Lutron, Control4, Crestron, Crestron Home, NorthBT, Trend and Delta systems.
The Zentium Pro Thermostat comes with a range of luxury faceplate finishes to complement the interior design of residential homes, apartment complexes and yachts.
In addition to its catalogue of products, Polar Bear Design also offers a customisation service where 'off the shelf’ standard products can be modified to meet a design brief, so the client gets a unique product that matches the interior design theme.
“We are delighted to welcome Polar Bear Designs to RGB,” says Caroline Britt, RGB Managing Director. “The Zentium thermostat merges both superior commercial features with the design aesthetics high-end installations demand today. Integration with existing third-party systems, such as Savant, Lutron and Control4, means that our installers will now be able to offer their customers a fully integrated home automation solution.”
