Revamped Bluesound Pulse Sub promises bigger bass for BluOS home cinemas

Bluesound has unveiled the new Pulse Sub, a compact wireless subwoofer designed to add deeper bass to BluOS‑based home cinemas and multi‑room music systems.

The new Pulse Sub is a complete redesign of Bluesound’s powered subwoofer platform, built around a 350‑watt amplifier and dual‑opposing 6.5‑inch woofers.

As part of the BluOS ecosystem, the sub integrates wirelessly with compatible Bluesound players and soundbars, pairing in a few steps through the BluOS Controller app.

The new industrial design follows the visual identity of Bluesound’s latest Pulse speaker, with soft contours, tonal‑weave fabric grilles and matte satin finishes. Integrated cable‑management channels keep wiring discreet.

Inside the enclosure, two woofers operate in an opposing configuration to counteract mechanical forces and reduce cabinet vibration. Bluesound says this keeps the enclosure stable while allowing the drivers to deliver deeper, more dynamic low‑frequency performance.

Smart DSP technology manages power, crossover behaviour and driver control, while app‑based settings allow installers to fine‑tune volume, crossover and phase for different rooms and systems.

The Pulse Sub can be added to the Pulse Cinema and Pulse Cinema Mini soundbars for a wireless home theatre setup, or paired with products such as the Powernode, Pulse M and Pulse Flex to extend bass performance across the home. A low line‑level input is also provided for use with traditional audio systems.

The Pulse Sub will be available later this year at £849 (€999) through authorised Bluesound retailers, Bluesound.com and Amazon.
