Q Acoustics launches Easyfit speaker series for faster in-ceiling installations

Q Acoustics is expanding its CI portfolio with its new Easyfit Speaker Series, a range of in-ceiling loudspeakers designed specifically to simplify installation for custom installers and integrators, while maintaining the brand’s established focus on sound quality and discreet design.

The Easyfit range has been developed to address a familiar challenge in residential AV projects: delivering premium audio performance without adding unnecessary complexity or installation time. The series launches with three 6.5-inch models, the QI65CE, QI65CWE IPX4 and QI65CWE Stereo IPX4, with an 8-inch QI80CE model scheduled to follow later in the year.

All are optimised to partner with Q Acoustics’ E50, E120 and E300A easy-install audio systems, while remaining fully compatible with third-party control and distribution platforms.

Key to their appeal is the Easyfit spring mechanism, engineered to reduce installation time and improve long-term reliability. Instead of traditional screw-clamp fixing systems, each speaker uses four high-tension spring fixings that are primed into a locking position before installation.

Once the speaker is wired and placed into the ceiling void, the installer simply releases each catch, allowing the springs to deploy automatically and secure the unit in place. Removal requires only a screwdriver and a simple push-and-turn action.

The models use polypropylene mid/bass drivers, selected for their balanced bass and mid-range response as well as their suitability for moisture-resistant environments. On the QI65CE, QI65CWE and QI80CE models, the pivoting tweeter can be rotated through 360 degrees and angled up to 22 degrees, enabling high-frequency targeting for listening positions. A high-frequency EQ switch (±1.5 dB) allows further fine-tuning to suit room acoustics, and client preferences.

For bathroom, kitchen and utility room applications, the QI65CWE and QI65CWE Stereo models carry IPX4 certification, providing protection against splashing water from any direction. Zinc-plated grilles, finished in white, combat corrosion in humid environments. Aesthetically, the range adopts a refined, minimalist approach. The inward-bent metal grilles and updated white finish are designed to sit flush.
