Q Acoustics has unveiled a compact wall-mount wireless audio system, the E120.

Available in bundles with specific Q Acoustics in-ceiling or in-wall speakers, the system features a 2 x 25W class D amplifier and is IP54-rated, making it suitable for installation in a kitchen or bathroom.

The E120 supports Bluetooth 5.0 streaming, and has built-in DAB+ and FM radio with five one-touch presets. Wired connectivity includes both digital optical and 3.5mm analogue inputs, and can be used as an external sound system for a TV. There’s also a subwoofer output.

Available in either black and white, the wall unit features a 3.2-inch screen, which shows track, artist and album names, and is surrounded by touch sensitive controls; it also comes with a full-sized remote.

Installers can manually configure the speaker outputs as stereo or dual mono; a pair of speakers can be wired in series on each output to support even distribution of sound in larger rooms.

An internal light sensor automatically manages the display brightness; owners can also manually set the on and dim levels. The E120 also features an alarm function, handy when installed in a bedroom.

Available from the end of April, Q Acoustics is selling the E120 in a variety of bundles.

The E120 can be packaged with a stereo pair of Q Acoustics Qi65CB in-ceiling speakers, for £499. Alternatively, an E120 with a pair of Qi65C Professional in-ceiling speakers is packaged for £569

An E120 and stereo pair of Qi65CW Weatherproof 6.5-inch in-ceiling speakers, for showers, bathrooms and verandas, is priced at £649, while an E120 and stereo pair of Qi65RP Performance 6.5-inch in-wall speakers, for a discrete hi-fi, is £699.

Finally, the E120 and stereo pair of Qi65EW Weatherproof on-wall speakers for gardens and veranda is £699.

The wall-mount unit E120 is also sold separately at £429.
