Q Acoustics has unveiled the 3040c, a slim floorstanding loudspeaker designed to deliver full‑bodied musical performance in smaller living spaces. It completes the company’s 3000c series, adding a room‑friendly option for those who want scale and clarity without the footprint of a traditional floorstander.

The 3040c is built around the same acoustic platform that defines the 3000c range. At its core are twin C3 Continuous Curved Cone mid/bass drivers. This profile blends the punch of a straight conic cone with the control of a flared design, giving the 121mm units a balance of low‑end authority and midrange articulation. The result, says the manufacturer, is a speaker that maintains composure at higher volumes while still revealing fine detail in vocals and acoustic recordings.

High‑frequency performance comes from a tweeter inspired by the brand’s Concept series. The unit is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated from the baffle, reducing the influence of cabinet pressure and mid/bass vibration. A vented inner chamber lowers distortion further, allowing a smoother crossover and more seamless integration with the C3 drivers.

Internally, the cabinet uses P2P bracing to stabilise areas prone to vibration. This improves stereo focus and widens the usable soundstage. To counter standing waves, a common issue in compact floorstanders, Q Acoustics employs HPE tubes that equalise internal pressure and help maintain a clean frequency response.

The 3040c also places emphasis on industrial design. Its curved profile, clean lines and one‑piece satin nickel or satin chrome driver trim give it a discreet, modern appearance. With no visible fixings, the cabinet presents a minimalist aesthetic that blends into contemporary interiors. Four finishes (Satin Black, Satin White, Pin Oak and Claro Walnut) are available.

The Q Acoustics 3040c is available now at £599, (€899 / $1,099). US availability begins in October.
