Austrian audio specialist Pro-Ject Audio Systems has launched two new Hi-Fi amplifiers, the compact Stereo Box S3 BT and flagship MaiA DS3.
The S3 BT introduces AptX Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity to the compact stereo integrated line. The power output is rated at 2 x 40 watts (into 4 ohm).
Designed to partner a pair of bookshelf speakers, the Stereo Box S3 BT offers two analogue inputs, and there’s a 3.5mm variable jack which can be used to add a subwoofer.
The larger Pro-Ject MaiA DS3 offers nine source inputs. A built-in phono preamp can handle both MM and MC cartridges. There’s also a coaxial digital input plus two optical digital inputs, three additional line inputs and an XMOS asynchronous USB 24bit/192kHz connection for the high quality onboard DAC.
The DS3 also offers Bluetooth AptX HD wireless support, and a dedicated subwoofer output. The built-in headphone amp has a 6.3mm socket. Power output is rated at 140W (again into 4 ohms).
Integrators can partner both models with the brand’s Amp Box S3 to power outdoor speakers or a second zone. The amplifiers feature an aluminium casing and are available in black and silver finishes.
The Stereo Box S3 BT retails for £359, while the MaiA DS3 sells for £1,049. Distribution is through Henley Audio.
