Polk Audio has announced the Polk React, an Alexa-enabled smart soundbar which it says is the smartest in the world. Designed in Baltimore, the React has Alexa Built-in and supports Alexa’s Communication feature, which gives users the ability to sync their contacts in the Alexa app and use voice commands to communicate with friends and family from the soundbar.
The React can be used as a standalone soundbar, or be paired with Polk Audio SR2 wireless rear surround speakers and the React Sub wireless subwoofer to create a full 5.1 surround system.
Other features include Alexa Multi-room Music, enabling listeners to pair multiple Alexa-enabled speakers with the soundbar for whole-home music. Four on-board far-field microphones enable the bar to hear commands even at higher volumes. Alexa can play music from connected streaming services or execute simple soundbar tasks, like adjusting volume and bass levels, and selecting listening modes.
The Polk Audio React soundbar launches mid-Feburary, priced at £249, while the SR2 wireless surround speakers are an additional £159 and the React Sub £179.
