PMC has supplied loudspeakers from its Ci installation range to a new cinema room created for young patients at Bradford Royal Infirmary. The project forms part of the ongoing work of Together for Cinema, the custom installation industry’s Community Interest Company, which delivers fully equipped cinema spaces to hospices, hospitals and supported-care environments across the UK.

The new room, located within the hospital’s Children and Young People’s Unit, has been designed to offer patients a place to relax during what can often be lengthy and demanding stays. The installation was delivered by North Yorkshire integrator Clever Association, which worked with PMC to identify suitable audio solutions for the space. Following discussions with PMC business development manager Craig Sowerby, the team selected the company’s Ci90 loudspeakers to partner with a 100-inch display, RTI-controlled home cinema system, and integrated lighting and blinds.

PMC UK sales manager Alister Smith said the company was pleased to support the initiative. “It will bring joy and a relief from the rigours of hospital stays for many children over the coming years,” he said, adding that the project demonstrates the continuing impact of Together for Cinema’s work across the sector.

As part of the wider transformation, Tigerplay and Creative Joinery and Design reworked an unused physiotherapy room into a child-friendly environment designed for cinema, gaming and karaoke. The result is a dedicated space intended to be safe, welcoming and comfortable for patients and their families.

Together for Cinema founder and managing director Ian Morrish said the contribution from PMC had been warmly received by staff and young people during the room’s opening on 27 November.

“The generosity of our industry never ceases to amaze me, and all involved with this installation are so grateful to PMC for donating the excellent PMC Ci90 speaker system,” said Morrish. “Having just attended the opening I was delighted with the sound quality, as were the families and staff in the Children’s Ward. A huge heartfelt thank you to PMC for their generosity and for helping create a special room that will help so many children and their families at a very challenging time.”

The Bradford project is the latest in a series of community-focused installations delivered by Together for Cinema, supported by suppliers and integrators from across the professional AV and custom installation sector.
