Optoma has announced the world’s first short throw 7,000 lumens fixed lens laser projector. The ZU720TST is the latest addition to its DuraCore laser ProScene projector range. The WUXGA (1920 x 1200) native resolution model is positioned as a short throw alternative to the ZU720T, making it an ideal solution for a variety of end-user scenarios and professional environments.
Suitable for continuous 24-hour operation, it’s designed to meet the demand for high brightness products that do not require interchangeable lenses. Typical applications would include edge-blending and projection mapping, simulation, and immersive installations, and short throw digital signage.
The ZU720TST is 4K and HDR compatible and features a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
The model is built around a fixed, telecentric lens design with full motorised lens-shift and 1.26x motorized zoom and focus. Features include built-in edge-blending, warping and four-corner correction, as well as 360-degree and portrait installation modes.
The ZU720TST weighs 12.7kg, said to be less than half the weight of similar products on the market. It can be ceiling mounted from just over a metre away from a wall or display surface for seamless setups, and is particularly applicable for areas where space or accessibility may be limited. Images can be cast up to 300-inches.
Engineered with DuraCore technology, the ZU720TST features a dust-resistant IP5X certified optical engine capable of maintenance-free projection for up to 30,000 hours in Eco mode.
Connections include three HDMIa, HDBaseT, VGA, 3D Sync in and out, 12V trigger and LAN, RS-232 control. It also has a 2x 10W sound system built-in.
The ZU720TST retails for £6,000 and is available now.
