Optoma has launched two new next generation ultra-short throw projectors as part of its the CinemaX D2 Series. The 4k CinemaX D2 and CinemaX D2 models boast a Smart Enhanced Gaming Mode, for blur-free visuals and low lag gaming: Optoma is claiming a 16ms response time in 4k at 60Hz, and 4ms in 1080P at 240Hz.

The duo pick-up from where the highly rated CinemaX P2 UST projector left off, boasting 3,000 lumens brightness, with a 1,800,000:1 contrast ratio. The CinemaX D2 Smart iteration comes with an Android TV dongle for streaming apps. Both D2 models are compatible with HDR 10 and HLG sources.

The new UST projectors use a 4k DLP image engine combined with Optoma’s DuraCore laser technology. The brand says just 30cm is needed to cast an image up to 100-inches. There’s a choice of either black or white chassis.

Connectivity includes three HDMI inputs, with eARC audio Dolby Atmos pass through. To aid installation, there’s built-in geometry correction with a 3x3 warping function. Control is via a standard remote or RS-232.

The duo boast 3,000 lumens brightness, with a 1,800,000:1 contrast ratio. They’re also compatible with HDR 10 and HLG sources. There’s REC.709 coverage and DCI-P3 wide colour gamut support.
