Roon has announced a significant new software upgrade, Roon 2.0, and with it a new mobile app called Roon ARC. The app is designed to give Roon users remote access all their music, everywhere they go. It puts their entire Roon library of albums, artists, playlists, and tags, in their pocket.
Users can access Roon Radio and recommendations, liner-notes, album and song Credits. Roon ARC integrates directly with TIDAL and Qobuz, linking libraries from either streaming platform.
TIDAL and Qobuz can be accessed directly from Roon ARC, ensuring all music is subject to Roon metadata. Naturally, the app also supports hi-res streaming; the Signal Path info tab within the app displays how audio is being delivered to any device, from source media to headphones.
The Roon ARC app allows playlists and albums to be downloaded directly to a mobile device so they can be enjoyed offline. Roon ARC downloads support the original file format.
Roon ARC is free for all Roon subscribers, and is available for Apple iOS and Android mobile devices.
