Nio ET7 electric car to come with Dolby Atmos system

Dolby Atmos continues its move into the automotive space, partnering with electric vehicle maker Nio. It’s been announced that Dolby Atmos will come standard on all Nio ET7s, the smart flagship electric sedan of the company, delivered via the vehicle's 7.1.4 immersive sound system.

Dolby Atmos music continues to find traction, as it wins support from artists, creatives and record labels.

The ET7’s audio system comes standard with 23 speakers and a total output of 1000W. The four primary channels use a 3-way speaker array which features dedicated tweeter, mid-tone and bass driver, a subwoofer plus four overhead speakers. Combining a leading active tuning algorithm and Dolby Atmos’ excellent detail and clarity, the ET7 provides an immersive listening experience beyond users’ expectation.

The electric vehicle company was founded in 2014, and has R&D centers and manufacturing facilities in Shanghai, Hefei, Beijing, Nanjing, San Jose, Munich and Oxford.

The Nio Formula E team has become a force to be reckoned with, wining the inaugural FIA Formula E Drivers’ Championship in 2015.

The ET7 with Dolby Atmos is now available for pre-order and the deliveries are estimated to begin in Q1 2022, beginning in China. John Couling, Senior Vice President, Entertainment, Dolby Laboratories, said, “We are excited to extend the future of car audio to consumers in China and internationally by integrating Dolby Atmos in the ET7.”
