Monitor Audio has announced a quartet of amplifiers for the custom install market. Due to launch January 2023, these new additions to its Custom Installation Amplifier series are engineered to support the demands of the installer, offering flexibility, easy set-up and superior audio performance, says the company.
All feature both Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing integrators to tune DSP settings to work with selected Monitor Audio Architectural speakers.
A new web configurator also extends the installation experience, and ensures the amplifiers can be integrated within familiar control systems such as Crestron home, Crestron, RTI and Control 4. A full API is also available for wider custom integrations. All four models provide 70v and 100v line support, suitable for garden system projects.
Features include power sharing technology, that allow a single output stage to deliver the full output power of the system. Consequently, for low and high impedance 4 and 8 Ohm speakers, channels do not need to be bridged to deliver the highest power levels.
The IA60-4 is a versatile four-channel amplifier for two zone stereo applications, height channels within home theatre Atmos solutions or small garden systems. With 1U half-rack width, it delivers four channels at 60W or 2-channels at 125W. Using power sharing, it can be configured to a single channel at 250W.
The IA125-4 is a compact 1U half-rack amplifier able to deliver four channels at 125W or two at 250W. Like the IA60-4. Typical uses include larger two zone stereo applications and height channels within home theatre systems.
It can be used in power sharing mode, for 250W, to support Monitor Audio’s recently launched THX certified Cinergy C100 speakers.
It can also partner the IMS-4 multi-zone streamer, featuring BlueOS for extending user versatility and access to popular streaming services and high-resolution formats and codecs.
If more power is needed, the IA750-2 and IA750-4 mimic the feature spec of their stablemates but offer more muscle. The former delivers 2x750W, while the latter delivers a whopping 4x750W. Both are 2U height amplifiers designed for larger installations.
Monitor Audio will support the launch with rack, wall and desk mount options.
The IA60 -4 will sell for £1,150 ( $1,400 / €1,350), the IA125 – 4 – £1,650 ($2,100 / €2,000), the IA750-2 – £2,150 ($2,800 / €2,650) and the IA750-4 – £3,150 ($4,200 / €4,000).
