New L-Acoustics Xi Series will suit any integration project

L-Acoustics is expanding its line of X Series coaxial speakers, with the Xi Series X8i and X6i models.

The versatile new passive loudspeakers are designed to meet the demands of any type of integration project that requires powerful, premium sound in a discrete format able to blend into any room architecture.

The Xi Series offers a range of installation-focused coaxial enclosures with distinct formats, bandwidth, and SPL specifically tailored for short throw applications.

Typical applications include small theatres, live clubs, luxury and hospitality spaces, home and yacht, broadcast, houses of worship and recording studios.

One of the key attractions of the Xi Series is its coaxial technology, engineered for a constant tonal balance over distance and smooth coverage for off-axis audiences, said to eliminate the need for a minimum listening distance.

The X6i and X8i boast a slender, streamlined design to seamlessly integrate into high-end architectural settings, and feature a 1.5-inch neodymium compression driver coaxially loaded by a 6- or 8-inch low-frequency transducer in a bass reflex cabinet. L-Vents deliver clear low-frequency power and features a weather resistant IP55 rating, making the new duo suitable for indoor and outdoor projects.

Both loudspeakers can be driven by two presets, allowing them to adapt to the acoustic needs of different projects and subwoofer coupling configurations. In their native presets, ideal for vocal reinforcement or when used alongside a subwoofer, the X6i boasts a maximum SPL of 123 dB and a frequency response down to 69 Hz, while the X8i features a maximum SPL of 129 dB and a frequency response down to 67 Hz.

For standalone applications and close proximity listening experiences, the X6i_50 preset delivers full-range sound reproduction down to 54 Hz and produces a maximum SPL of 117 dB. The X8i_40 preset reaches 43 Hz, producing a maximum SPL of 123 dB.

The Xi Series X6i and X8i will be on display at ISE 2024, and are expected to ship April 2024.
